I love a good murder mystery..This one kept me guessing, but the hardest part was listening to the reader.
Everyone should read like Jeremy Piven. He is fantastic!!! He had emotion, knew when to whisper and his phrasing had the perfect ebb and flow of reading. most excellent!!!!
I was sorely disappointed in Melissa Leo. She's a good actress, but shouldn't read. there was no emotion in her voice. her characters were dull, and lifeless and just inappropriate. I struggled to listen to her, and she unfortunately read most of the book. again, like the previous book, I kept going to make it through.
I also hated the music. it was awful!! I'm glad we are almost 20 years out and hopefully they don't do that anymore.

enjoyed the writing, hated the reading

I would have enjoyed reading this book on my own. The narrator was awful. the story kept me on the edge of my seat, but it was hard at times to get past her voice. each character sounding the same, like some 1960s gangster. I can't wait for the subsequent books, but glad Patterson didn't continue with Suzzane Toren.
