very high resolution overview of three of the Great empires world history. informative and many trivia points were given most interesting was daily life facts. narration was robotic and a bit dry

The end we've been waiting for.

not that it will live up to anyone's expectations but it is an end. I have listened or read all of Orson Scott Card's books since the first that I laid my hands on because I was fortunate enough to have an English teacher that assigned it for required reading in my freshman year of high school. I then read children of the mind and xenocide in book form because back then audiobooks weren't looked upon as a serious form of reading. but then I don't remember exactly why Orson Scott card's Ender series was the first that I downloaded when I discovered audible and when I found out that it is actually Orson's favorite way that his stories are enjoyed it has been the only way that I have experienced his work, and frankly the only way I read unless forced to because audible does not carry the book I want to read. You will notice that some of the Portuguese names are pronounced slightly different in this book and I will have to look up the spelling of thulian's mother's name to see how it is spelled, frankly I'll have to look up all of bean's grandchildren's and their non-legomenid parents names, but that's the only reason to look up their print forms at all. thank you Orson for this great work that you have given to us I for one am very appreciative for the journey that you have taken all of us on, but I selfishly hope that it will continue. ;-)!

The ending didn't seem like an ending

No real catharsis for me. but maybe there wasn't meant to be one? Great narration by Iain Glenn Good world building and flushed out cultures and a unique world.

I was hoping for a catharsis on both mother and daughter's part, but unfortunately have to settle for it only being one-sided. maybe it's in the sequel?

story gripping and heartfelt, narration lacking

a gripping and thrilling story of a woman who can steal memories. but she is an unlikely heroin and has to fight for the truth and that right and love would win. narrator is great for the main character but her male voices leave much to be desired. very stereotypical and emotions are flat.
