Historia
A cosmic accident sets the modern town of Grantville, West Virginia, down in war-torn 17th-century Europe and a new nation is forged. Now when United States of Europe ally King Gustavas of Sweden invades Poland, the U.S. of E. is dragged into a full-scale European war against ruthless opponents. Meanwhile Mike Stearns, wily and courageous leader of the up-time West Virginians, has been turned out of office in an election. But, like Churchill (before and after him) Stearns is not done yet.

Too socialist for me...
Revisado: 09-01-21
The socialist leanings of the author are beginning to overpower the entertainment value of the stories... I liked when the earlier books held to the liberal values of the American revolution, but the values that powered the enlightenment are now being eschewed and the stories are starting to make the same stereotypical generalizations that have been the under pinning of racism around the world. The author has talked time and again about nation building and yet fails to understand that what makes nations exist in the first place is a strong shared vision of what is right and wrong and this needs to be a strong enough idea that it supplants the reverence for family kinship in the extended family range. This is why churches and religion have built such strong communities. The idea that multiculturalism does not fatally weaken a nation to the point that it breaks apart is being disproven throughout western civilization today. It is sad the author has derailed what was a fun storyline.

Historia
Belisarius is a quantum man, an engineered Homo quantus who fled the powerful insight of dangerously addictive quantum senses. He found a precarious balance as a con man, but when a client offers him untold wealth to move a squadron of warships across an enemy wormhole, he must embrace his birthright to even try. In fact, the job is so big that he'll need a crew built from all the new sub-branches of humanity. If he succeeds, he might trigger an interstellar war, but success might also point the way to the next step of Homo quantus evolution.

Amazing narration...
Revisado: 05-17-19
A story that is both a great heist and a search for purpose gets the substance it deserves from truly inspired voice acting! Great science fiction!

Good action, but very cringy social...
Revisado: 04-07-19
the action and magic scenes are very well done, but the gay flirting is really cringy and seems like SJW virtue signaling. If the author stuck to the writing he is best at it would have been a better story.

Historia
Westly and Raider are coming to grips with the new world and the tremendous changes since the solar storm caused the nationwide power failures. The problems in the Flagg household seem to focus on a coming confrontation between good people and those at the Crater of Diamonds. Wes, in the process of warning others of the danger, realized sometimes in a world gone mad, doing the right thing for the right reasons is not good enough. Sometimes, he has to do the wrong things for the right reasons to fix what’s gone wrong.

good except for the soap opera endings
Revisado: 03-17-19
the story is well formed and draws you in, but the author's continuing reliance on the cliffhanger ending is quite tiresome and ultimately disappointing.

Historia
Westley Flagg isn't your usual lawbreaker. He's a poacher, a moonshiner, and a prepper, out of necessity. Despite trying to live on the straight and narrow, he knows the law can turn things on you in a heartbeat. When Wes has to come up with money for his Grandpa's surgery, he gets involved with an unsavory group. Living deep in poverty for most of his life, he's become resilient and flexible, but college education can only take him so far. A solar storm sends the northern lights as far south as Texas, and cascading failures in the grid cripple the nation. Now, without communications, Flagg has to prove he has what it takes to still survive.

I really enjoyed this book, it reminded me of why I got so hooked on the series in the first place. very dynamic, and has a proper ending.
