Highly enjoyable
Revisado: 02-04-23
I loved reading the series, and hearing them as an audiobook really brought the story and characters to life.
Listening to the story reminded me of how much I'd forgotten.
Nebiat was an excellent villain with tremendous depth and (some) noble motives willing to do anything to reach her goals. I haven't enjoyed a villain this much since Handsome Jack in Borderland 2.
Want to add I had only read the first eight (Godswar) and Legacy being on as well was a huge bonus. I've got the Legacy books just haven't gotten around to reading them yet.
Also, loved Ryan Burke's performance in the Deathless books and he's done an excellent job here as well.

The corporations promised it could never happen. Of course they would say that. Their products were everywhere. They had turned everything from scarecrows to coffee makers into robots, and there wasn't a home on Earth that wasn't filled with their machines.

pretty funny
Revisado: 01-14-23
I found the story and characters amusing and highly enjoyable. the dialogue had me in stitches. I wish I could elaborate, but with as short as it is anything I mention will feel like a spoiler. my only complaint would be it felt like it was over entirely too fast.

Just fantastic
Revisado: 05-23-22
I've lost track of how many times I've now listened to this book. The voice acting is fantastic, the story is pretty good, and above all it's very entertaining and comforting.
I can easily listen to it around the kids and not fear they'll pick up nightmares or obscenities.

Tough one
Revisado: 02-17-22
I loved the Critical Failure books and audiobooks, but as they've went on we keep getting more characters, the same jokes, and the plot doesn't feel like it's moving forward anymore and there's no character growth at all, instead it's more like character regression.
This is the first Critical Failure book that put me to sleep, repeatedly. I have no idea how many times I've listened (lost track after 20) where I was literally bored to sleep.
It has nothing to do with the voice acting, that was top notch, but man that story just dragged so hard it was a fight to make it through.
I'm REALLY hoping the next book is better because I've invested a lot of time in the audiobooks and books and I'd love to see/ hear the ending.

Historia
My name is Sawyer William Vincent - I know, it sounds like three first names - but most people know me as the Red Raptor. Well, technically no one knows I'm the Red Raptor, he's just a bit more popular. Wow. Enough about my name. Let me start over. I’m a superhero - the legendary Black Harrier’s partner. Not sidekick. I don't care if I'm still in high school. We work together to bring down the city's most dangerous villains. When the Black Harrier gets a mysterious note, then goes missing in New York City, things are pretty much left up to me. But don’t worry...I’ve got this.

Entertaining
Revisado: 05-22-21
Yes, it's pretty much Batman.
That being said, it has a solid story and fairly deep characters that deal with problems in their lives from minor to major.
The fight scenes are rather entertaining and fairly descriptive, it's easy to close your eyes and envision it in your head.
I don't listen to most audiobooks more than once but I've listened to this three times now. Definitely worth listening.

Fantastic
Revisado: 06-18-19
I loved the story and narration. The world opened up with additional lore, more monsters and men just as terrible. The story moved along at a fast pace, the gore and fornication were both plentiful. The narrator really threw herself into the story and kept you on the edge of your seat.
Looking forward to more in the future.

Pretty solid
Revisado: 06-06-19
The story caught my interest at the start, had some slow moments but nothing that made me want to stop listening and was pretty exciting towards the end.
Maybe it was just me, but the narrator sounded bored at times and lacked enthusiasm. He finished strong though.
