Historia
The discovery of a secret stairway running to the top of the castle leads Princess Irene to a revelation even more weighty than the fiendish plans of the goblin community that miner boy Curdie has discovered. Will the Princess and Curdie understand the significance of what they have found, or will Harelip and the goblins successfully execute their evil plan?

Perplexing pronunciation of “Irene”
Revisado: 04-04-25
No complaints about this lovely book, but for some reason the narrator pronounces “Irene” like “eye-ree-nee” and it drives me bonkers. Wish I’d gone with another version.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old trans boy Benji is on the run from the cult that raised him—the fundamentalist sect that unleashed Armageddon and decimated the world’s population. Desperately, he searches for a place where the cult can’t get their hands on him, or more importantly, on the bioweapon they infected him with. But when cornered by monsters born from the destruction, Benji is rescued by a group of teens from the local Acheson LGBTQ+ Center, affectionately known as the ALC. The ALC’s leader, Nick, is gorgeous, autistic, and a deadly shot, and he knows Benji’s darkest secret.

Struggled with the nonstop drama and angst
Revisado: 08-05-24
Interesting book and characters, but I found the intensity of the protagonist tiresome. I was waiting for any change or shift in tone. Ended up taking a break and coming back to finish later.

Incredibly hot
Revisado: 04-09-24
The third book does not disappoint. Marske provides the depth of character to make the sex scenes incredibly rich. Love that all our fav characters are best friends now too.

Historia
1926, and in a country still recovering from the Great War, London has become the focus for a delirious new nightlife. In the clubs of Soho, peers of the realm rub shoulders with starlets, foreign dignitaries with gangsters, and girls sell dances for a shilling a time. The notorious queen of this glittering world is Nellie Coker, ruthless but also ambitious to advance her six children, including the enigmatic eldest, Niven, whose character has been forged in the crucible of the Somme. But success breeds enemies, and Nellie’s empire faces threats from without and within.

Delightful.
Revisado: 11-01-23
Brings together so many things I like in a story. Well-woven mystery, unexpected and imaginative details, surprising character growth. Smart and confident women don’t hurt my review at all either. I’d do it all again!

Historia
We are in a small room with the vampire, face to face, as he speaks--as he pours out the hypnotic, shocking, moving, and erotically charged confessions of his first two hundred years as one of the living dead. . . He speaks quietly, plainly, even gently . . . carrying us back to the night when he departed human existence as heir--young, romantic, cultivated--to a great Louisiana plantation, and was inducted by the radiant and sinister Lestat into the other, the "endless," life....

Surprisingly annoying
Revisado: 12-22-21
This is the story of a very angsty and self-absorbed person who happens to be a vampire. No character growth until he eventually stops feeling. At that point he stops being annoying and becomes boring. The words “utterly” and “completely” are utterly and completely overused.

Unimpressive
Revisado: 08-24-21
Characters were poorly developed. Annoying and sometimes offensive attempts at feminism made me roll my eyes constantly. Shallow storytelling restated plot points that were already obvious. The synopsis was great. Should have stopped there.
