Wonderful

These books are delightful. The narration is excellent and the characters are well developed and the relationship between Rex and Albert is growing deeper as they learn to communicate with each other.

Historia
England, 1925. After years shut away from the world, former detective Lord Edgington of Cranley Hall plans a grand ball to celebrate his 75th birthday. But when someone starts bumping off members of his scheming family, the old man enlists his teenage grandson to help find the killer before one of them is next. The mismatched duo must pick the culprit from a gaggle of preening playboys, scatter-brained spinsters, and irate inspectors in this Agatha-Christie-style whodunnit that will have you racing to spot the killer.

Such a lovely read.
Revisado: 10-18-22
I have an extensive audio library of nearly 2,000 books. This book is near the top. The author does an excellent job of writing believable storyline in "world" of his own creation. The relationship between the two protagonists is heartwarming but there is a realistic edge of sharpness as Lord Edgington tries to train up a slightly oblivious teen. Audible please publish all the books by this author.

The narrator is awful.
Revisado: 11-26-20
The book is lovely but as stated in the headline the narrator is god awful. I have a library of 1,000 plus audiobooks. I made a careless mistake and bought another of the authors books with this narrator I was simply unable to listen to it. I will be more careful going forward. I have yet to refuse to buy a book because of the narrator but there is a first time for every thing.

Good story, a bit dark. Sympathetic slightly
flawed characters, good insight into mental illness and the struggles of supportive family members.

Historia
When Jenny inherits her estranged grandmother’s cottage in Sherwood Forest, she has nothing to lose - no money, no job, no friends, no family to speak of, and zero self-respect. Things can only get better.... Her grumpy but decidedly handsome new neighbour, Mack, has a habit of bestowing unsolicited good deeds on her. And when Jenny is welcomed into a rather unusual book club, life seems to finally be getting more interesting. Instead of reading, the members pledge to complete individual challenges before Christmas.
