» If I had a dollar for every. single. time.
Tornado Killer was said, I’d own an island.
A coming of age, chosen fate, forced pregnancy, magical realism.

» This is a fever dream, in the most mediocre way. This author bit off way more than they could chew, and it shows.

» While the concept of this book could work for a certain audience- this left me confused and drained trying to make sense of this story. This isn’t rememberable in the slightest bit and gave me a headache.

» There was, a lot going on?
A stalking, antihero, obsessed MC, an author FMC figuring out her great grandmas murder mystery, journal entries, a carnival (I understand the tie in with Satan’s Affair now!), a secret society, FBI raid.

» I didn’t mind the characters- but I wasn’t a fan of everyyythinngg else that went out. The last half of the story was best for me I found. But I wasn’t WOW’d by Zade’s finale of his story. But I did enjoy Addie’s portion of figuring out her Gigi’s murder.

» The spice in this spiced, but this wasn’t amazing.
This involved children, and that’s not what I want entangled in my dark romance books.

» Just like the first book, this was just heart engulfing.
I was invested. Obsessed. And I just down right adored this story.

» Weston is such a gentle✨man✨, and Skylar is just the sweetest being just trying to unlearn her damage.
I loved the humor and the chemistry.

» I loved the consideration Skylar had for West’s kids, and the respect and strength they both had to form their relationship.
So heartfelt beyond the spice.
And Cherry the parrot was just such a good insert.

» I couldn’t get past the Peter Pan comparison. I felt myself struggling to think outside that realm and solely focus on the story. But that’s just a personal struggle for this.

» This was spicy, I enjoyed the growth between James and Wendy🥵
I also loved the twist this book brings… like what?! This author did a phenomenal job at creating tension in scenes and making each chapter binge worthy.

» the last half of this really picked up for me, and I just couldn’t stop turning pages.
This honestly would have been a 4 or 5⭐️, but again- I couldn’t get past the character references.

» I found myself bored with this 20% in.
It was basic, kinda cringy like a teenager wrote this, and I feel like other Dark Roms have been done like this and executed way better. This was just so calculated and left nothing to the imagination.

»I also felt like this took a different direction around chapter 30, felt like it got off track to turn into something more- Sopranos like. Which I did enjoy the last half of the book more than the first half.

» Now that I’ve read this, I can check it off the list. But wouldn’t hold my breath on me reading any more of this series.
This won’t be memorable.

» Clay has done it again.
In all its bizarreness, paranoia; and in its own way relatable to reality- this was a banger!

» Cringe worthy and comical at moments.
I was instantly entangled in this insane story that follows the revolving obsession with ‘Fax News’ (get it?) that’s brainwashing society. Social media- brainwashing society.

» The audio to this was 🤌🏻✨
I found that with the format of this book, the audio helped tie everything together for me.
Truly, enjoyed this!

Idk what it was, but this just made me feel super invested in the atmosphere of this story.

I was curious, about Jake, the Caller, the farm; the school.

This was a fast, slow burn. And I kind of loved it? I loved the mental strain this story gave, the change in narration towards the end. I didn’t expect the story to take a complete turn; no spoilers.

Now for me to watch it on Netflix and compare!

For the ones that are infatuated with bone articulation- this was fabulous.

𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬. This author put together a crisp, raspy story that kept me eager for more after every chapter. I figured out the protagonist early on- but that didn’t spoil the story for me.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝- there was so much poured into this, so much supporting information that was nailed on the head. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘺

This was such a good follow up book.

𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐈’𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲! Gives total scream vibes- you never know who’s the problem.

This book was full of filler info that worked so well, mystery, tension and left me wondering until the end.
