Historia
The boys of Huaxia dream of pairing up with girls to pilot Chrysalises, giant transforming robots that can battle the mecha aliens that lurk beyond the Great Wall. It doesn't matter that the girls often die from the mental strain. When 18-year-old Zetian offers herself up as a concubine-pilot, it's to assassinate the ace male pilot responsible for her sister's death. But she gets her vengeance in a way nobody expected—she kills him through the psychic link between pilots and emerges from the cockpit unscathed.

The triangle is the strongest shape but this book isn't a triangle
Revisado: 03-23-24
I really wanted to love this book. I was sold on badass women taking their dignity back with giant mech suits.
what I got was an ao3 fic with jarring pacing and so much lost potential. the first 8 chapters of this book should have been its own book with its own conflicts. The main male love interests in this book also made me feel second hand what it's like to be a woman having to read women written by men. they did both of them dirty, especially the iron demon.
the narrator was good at least, they just deserved a better story to read

Historia
Overjoyed by his official adoption and the completion of the molecular transporter coming closer, Oliver's excitement over the return of his mother conflicts with the ever-expanding mystery surrounding the circumstances of her departure and Dindet's increasingly suspicious behavior. She's leaving, more often and for longer and longer periods of time. Left alone with devilishly wandering thoughts and idle hands, Oliver craves a distraction...and his name is Markus.

Another great entry

I loved the first book and this book has more of that. there was slightly less alien clown shenanigans it felt like though which I was the most interested in. it is a really good set up for the the next in the series though.

Historia
Oliver Tarsul is a mostly average 14-year-old kid; aside from being the unwilling roommate to an interdimensional space clown his step-father solicited to rebuild a portal designed by his recently deceased mother. Things are more than a little complicated. The first entry in a planned series of riveting interdimensional shennaniganery, with a heartbreaking emotional core that will leave anyone on the brink of tears, if not sobbing outright.

A nostalgic and fun read with a hidden darkness
Revisado: 10-24-23
I loved this book. it had all the fun nostalgia of an old Saturday morning cartoon but didn't shy away from dark topics and adult themes. it all blended together beautifully. I will say there are triggers for sexual abuse in this book, but done In a respectful manner towards the seriousness of the subject.
