One of my favorite biographies
Revisado: 12-27-22
I loved reading biographies of what God has done in people's lives, I get to know Him better. This so well articulated and with much recalled detail of thoughts and God's voice at the time of such amazing hardships. This was really hard to put down. Darlene is witty and an excellent writer with a human experience that had to be told. I'll never forget this one.

Understand, this book is not written to make you feel bad or condemn you if you have not engaged others with the gospel message. This book is written to encourage and inspire you. Even though pastor and author Greg Laurie is a gospel-presenting professional, in this book he tells stories of his own failure and success. The most important things you will find here are biblical principles that you can apply yourself.

Historia
What happens when a nineteen-year-old boy leaves home and heads into the jungles to evangelize a murderous tribe of South American Indians? For Bruce Olson, it meant capture, disease, terror, loneliness, and torture. But what he discovered through trial and error has revolutionized the world of missions. Bruchko, which has sold more than 300,000 copies worldwide, has been called "more fantastic and harrowing than anything Hollywood could concoct."

Jesus the God of All Peoples
Revisado: 02-27-21
The way Jesus reached the Motelone people so clearly shows he is one true living God of the universe. He transcends cultural differences and reaches all people groups of the world with his amazing love.
The book is fascinating reading and was often hard to put down. The audio reading was a little mechanical at first but Gary improved after a chapter or two.

It was totally dark. The lights in the city were turned off, and there were no streetlamps, no neon signs, and no extra glow in shop windows. Klaus noticed that theirs was the only car on the road. How would they slip by the checkpoint? Klaus glanced at his wife, Tina, whose eyes were shut in prayer. Suddenly he heard a thunderous crash, then saw a bright flash of light. Klaus-Dieter John dreamed of becoming a medical missionary in the developing world. He would do whatever it took.

Revisado: 12-15-20
Short read, great to hand out to skeptics.
God lined up the sequence of events in Genesis and Job amazingly with what we have learned from science.
Read one or more of, "A Matter of Days", "Improbable Planet", "Creator and the Cosmos", and "Always Be Ready".

Solid presentations of what the Bible says
Revisado: 05-03-20
This not end times hype. It is a well researched and solid presentation of scripture taken as a whole. As he says, don't take his word for it, read what he says and look into the Bible for yourself.
This book is very important because it will give yet another reason to walk with Jesus whole heartedly. It will help you grow in your understanding of God's word and in faith that He is in control and everything is going according to plan. This book is well written, engaging and easy to follow.

Not fully researched
Revisado: 02-11-20
Walton and Glover in his book, Beyond the Firmament both sadly miss the transcendent nature of Bible. For example, when God had Moses strike the rock to bring water from it, why did God care that Moses struck it twice instead of once? Because of the dual or transcendent meaning of it symbolizing Jesus being The Rock that was struck to bring the water of life to all people. God did what the Israelite people needed at the time and he did it to point to the future coming of Jesus. Walton's view of a functional description of creation may have merit but he misses the transcendent content of how well the Bible matches modern science to give us a solid basis for faith that the Bible is God's work. He talks about Hugh Ross briefly, but he needs to actually read his books to see the large amount of strong evidence.

Wally Roux is a teenage genius with a big imagination and a big heart, who just moved to Savannah, GA, from Maine with his mom, who adopted him when he was an infant. In this charming and sweet solo performance, Wally investigates what is causing a number of strange events and occurrences. He explores and gets lost within space-time - an infinite, indefinable, and mysterious void that you can’t see but when you slice into it you can feel it.

Born to Betty and George Sumrall of New Orleans on February 15, 1913, Lester Frank Sumrall's cold-hearted brawler father considered him an "accident", telling him bluntly, "You weren't supposed to be here." Reared in the Deep South he showed early in life the resourcefulness and leadership attributes that comprised his remarkable 83-year life and 65-year ministry of the Gospel of Christ.

Revisado: 09-09-19
Want to know God better? Read this book and you will! If you think you know what God will or won't do? This book may shatter that view. God went to great lengths to reach Lester. By the end of the book it is clear God did it because he knew Lester was a man he could trust. This book is a key to life for everyone.

Historia
When Lillian Trasher founded Egypt's first orphanage, others thought that a lone American woman with no means of support would surely be killed or starve to death. But Lillian—certain of God's guidance—stood by her earlier promise to Him, "If ever I can do anything for You, just let me know—and I'll do it." In the midst of poverty, war, and deadly epidemics, Lillian faced each day with a heart of trust, modeling the life she hoped her children would someday live in their own homes.

The most touching book I've read in years
Revisado: 08-26-19
This biography gives the true definition of what it means to be a Christian, by a life long example. Full of faith, love, meaning and purpose. The way Jesus loved the little children and provided faithfully time and again touched my heart to overflowing! Another one to read is a bio of Mary Slessor.
