Historia
After Lady Truthful's magical Newington emerald is stolen from her, she devises a simple plan: go to London to recover the missing jewel. She quickly learns, however, that a woman cannot wander the city streets alone without damaging her reputation, and she disguises herself as a mustache-wearing man. During Truthful's dangerous journey she discovers a crook, an unsuspecting ally, and an evil sorceress - but will she find the emerald?

Uneven narration; cute story
Revisado: 09-21-23
A cute faux-regency story, nimbly plotted and quick paced.
The narrator has a pleasing voice and is excellent with accents -- but she makes so many errors in pronunciation! Examples: "bough" for Bow (as in bow window or Bow Street Runners) ; "mull-ishly" for mulishly; "cure-ickel" for curricle; "saloon" for salon. Too many more to list.

Historia
Harding’s Luck tells the exciting story of brave Dickie Harding, a little disabled boy and his many adventures. One day, Dickie accidentally discovers an old magic that allows him to travel into his own past across 500 years. There he meets Elfrida and Edred Arden (as told in The House of Arden), and together they seek a long-lost treasure. It’s a story of injustice, poverty, deformity, magic, romance, suspense, sacrifice, and eventual triumph over adversity.

Slow story; excellent narrator
Revisado: 09-20-21
Not one of Nesbit’s best stories - slow to start, much repetition, and a child-hero who is too sweet and generous to be true. Usually Nesbit’s children are more realistic. But the narration is superb: every character distinct, with an abundance of different accents.

Historia
On a hot midsummer night in Discworld, everything seems perfect - crop circles are turning up everywhere, the witch Magrat Garlick is getting married the next morning, and everyone's buzzing with excitement. Unfortunately, the Lancre All-Comers Morris Team has gotten drunk on a fairy mound, and the elves have returned with the traditional traits of the magical realm of Fairie: evil, malice, murder, cruelty, and kidnapping. Suddenly, Granny Weatherwax and her tiny coven of belligerent witches are faced with their biggest challenge as they try to pull off Magrat's wedding.

One if Terry’s best!
Revisado: 06-28-20
Such a good riff on Shakespeare , Tolkien, and Folklore - plus an energetic plot that keeps “one “ listening.
