Historia
Out there is chaos, the collapse of society, and so much to be afraid of. All that matters is freedom. That’s what Remy Blake has been taught by his survivalist father. Raised off the grid in the middle of nowhere, his own survival skills not yet honed, Remy is days shy of his eighth birthday when his father unexpectedly dies. As seasons pass, supplies run out, and fending for himself grows more desperate, Remy sets out on foot, unprepared for the great unknown of civilization.

Ridiculous
Revisado: 01-11-24
This was a poorly written story. I find it hard to believe this was actually done by a seasoned writer and not a hack with an agenda.

Loved it!

This was such a fun listen. The story was great. Well edited. The story line was a dark comedy like no other that I have listened to or read. Last but not least - John Scalzi, the narrator, was the icing on this cake.

Historia
Like many well-to-do Upper East Siders over the age of 65, esteemed art appraiser Percival Skinner had planned to spend his retirement living off his savings. But a market correction has left him living below his prior means. One day he’s visited by a dapper fixer in search of a famous work by a Renaissance master. Skinner knows the work well: The original was owned by his ancestor, and was passed down through his family over the generations. If, as an intermediary, he can coordinate a sale, a small fortune awaits. Problem is, he might not be the only one on the make.

Historia
From Bob Beckel, the popular co-host of The Five on Fox News Channel, a deeply moving, redemptive memoir about his life as a political operative and diplomat, his long struggle with alcohol and drugs, and his unlikely journey to finding faith. Growing up poor in an abusive home, Bob Beckel learned to be a survivor: To avoid conflict, mask his feelings, and to lie - all skills that served him well in Washington, where he would become the youngest-ever Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and manage Walter Mondale's 1984 presidential campaign.

Brought me to tears
Revisado: 10-07-19
The 80's flew by for me since I was in the trenches pregnant and raising my young brood of 7. I grew up in the DC area and loved everything about that historical and magical area. I knew very little about Bob Beckel and really did not even realize what a commanding force he had been in the Washington political realm.
I picked this audio book for his story on alcoholism. I have family members and close acquaintances that struggle with addictions and I'm trying to hear as many stories concerning that struggle. The narration by his brother Graham Beckel was excellent.
A Conservative/Libertarian in personal philosophy I truly found his biography very interesting BUT it was his story about his addiction and his daily commitment to his recovery that has made me an advocate in recommending this truly inspiring biography. Kudos to Bob Beckel - thank you!

I enjoyed listening to I Am Watching You by Teresa Driscoll. The story held my interest and had a surprise ending. Lots of secrets held by the characters. What really made the story special was the narration by Elizabeth Knowelden! She is by far the best narrator I have listened to and I will seek out all her narrated stories.
