Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. I just could not listen to the banality of every single move. Even worse the main character Cupid started doing my head in with his self flagellation. Crikey. No I had to stop before I threw my kindle away. Sorry but not the author best work.

Once again unable to review. The playback is so swift and cannot slow to normal speed. unfortunate as the blurb sounded nice.

Unable to review this story. Unfortunately this session was as the name suggested and Spun through all the chapters in under 5 mins. Assume it's an error on the book, but no joy for me. If I ever do get it to play on normal speed I will rereview

A very nice book. Loved the characters and how our girl overcame the issues she had. Liked the narration, the different characters came through perfectly.

Not there for me

I really wanted to love this book, however I found myself wanting to throw Isabella out the story more than once. Unfortunately her whiney, negative behaviour did not do it for me. I totally understand her wanting to be independent, but there were moments when her competitive nature turned me off and I couldn't see why James would want to stay through it all. I liked James, he was steady, sure and patient when she had her flipping out moments though and stayed through it all.

Not exactly sure about the forbidden stepbrother angle as really their parents had only gotten married after these two had met and had a whole relationship, there was nothing forbidden there as again they were adults meeting at a job, whose parents happen to have gotten together on holiday as it were. This again happened halfway through the story.

The narration did not work for me either as sometimes it fell flat and I just wanted to stop. Hearing the story read actually showed up how much Isabella was an annoyance, so in that sense the narrator got Isabella correct.

Unique characters

Some very well written stories. All characters and couples were very different. They each had their own sets of issues or hang ups. Their relationships worked, the narrator doing a good job in giving them individual voices, especially as the three books run into each other and the cast of characters come up in each other books.

An entertaining listen. I liked it well enough. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Colour blind love

A different take where the couple fall for each other without sight of each other as well as doing it where one is in prison and the other free.

Katie as a female character, seemed to me to be a bit weak allowing her friend and her father to dictate her life for her and she goes along with it, even as she is meant to be a successful woman of colour in her own right. She is shy and retiring, getting involved in her father's prison pen pal programme, where she meets Logan and strikes up a relationship. Finding out how he felt about any race apart from white and what they relationship will look like in the future plays a big part I the latter half of the book.

Logan is a man who has been imprisoned because he took the fall for a woman, and is soon to be released because of overcrowding, however he gets in the pen pal programme as well with some stipulations regarding who and what his contact would be like. He wants white and female, as he at the core of it is racist. When he discovers Katie is black, he's shocked and is actually a bit telling where he believes she is white from the way she speaks as if only white women speak well, showing his lack of interaction with others. How he deals with this truth as well as telling his best friend and him coming around makes up for his character later on in the book.

This was a tough listen for me as a coloured female. However I felt the author did a good enough job with their relationship between each other, even if I felt the end was incomplete and a lot of issues were still unresolved for the long term. The relationship between Katie and her friend, her father and her other acquaintances, as well as Logan's with his friend.

The narration was well done, I felt the reader got all the characters across and as separate identities, although the ghetto speech of Teal may have been overboard for a college graduate. This was my first listen of this reader and I liked it and felt
it added to the overall story feel.

I would certainly listen to this narrator as well as read another of this author work.

A fun story

I loved this quirky tale of a woman recently called to the other side or the green room in her words. Bonnie has just crossed over, met by her best friend and into body sculpting and having a nip tuck. A funny woman she is still however concerned about her husband Peter and gets quite concerned about contacting him and finding out when he's coming to the green room too.

The narration in this was spot on, giving a completely different voice to Bonnie, her daughter, her best friend. It's done very well. Never having read this author I am completely happy I took the chance to listen to this book as well.

Redeemed itself at the end.

This was a hard one for me and I almost gave up at the beginning as the female lead began to annoy me with her whining. She became a little too melodramatic for me and for a vampiress who had supposedly lived a long time started to sound 18.

Yes I could see she wanted Rhett, but was denying herself and putting the coven in danger by refusing to drink even after knowing they were in more than usual danger.

However I persevered and the latter chapter made up for it as finally Rhett was turned, and the danger and changes to their lives actually began. The surprise revelation about her condition and maybe more vampires around made this story redeemable as for that reason only I wanted to know more.

The narration wasn't too bad and I felt more from the male narrator than the female, they were for some parts bland and uninspiring , but in others they certainly got the tension and the tone correct.

Fantasy island

Another entry in the life of Dean and Jillian, this time Dean takes his wife to the island of Eden, where all fantasies become reality.

With the couple's daily life becoming busier, Dean decides it's time for another fantasy from their jar to give them some time together. So we have a fantasy capture come true for Jillian, and some dominant time for Dean.

This was once again narrated beautifully, and I felt the couple throughout. Another brilliant job.
