Experience the emotions of real life fiction.
Revisado: 02-07-16
No spoiler alert in this review. This story has so man twists and turns that nothing could spoil the end. The story leads the listener to believe that they already know how it turns out only to find out in the following moments how wrong they are and realizing that they cannot stop listening until they can no longer go on, because their bodies feel the exhaustion of the characters and must rest. A most enjoyable and exciting story.
Narrated by any other person than Rebecca Roberts would have done this story and author a gigantic injustice.
Ms Roberts performed this story leaving no doubt who each character was and what they were experiencing. I felt as though I were watching each scene played out in front of me.
I normally don't listen to audiobooks that are sexually explicit. While the scenes in this story involving sex were explicit, they were not pornographic, rather a part of the real life expressions of love, hate, fear and confusion that made this story come alive with the help and expert character portrayal of Narrator Rebecca Roberts.
A job well done by all involved.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. The story is all over the place and confusing. As confusing as the comic routine Who's On First featuring Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, but nowhere near as entertaining.
What about Caprisha Page’s performance did you like?
Caprisha Page is by far my favorite female narrator and I admire her ability to get through this book. However, even her exceptional storytelling ability could not explain this story to me.

Historia
From April to November 1918, the American Air Service grew from a poorly equipped, unorganized branch of the U.S. Expeditionary Forces to a fighting unit equal to its opponent in every way. Hostile Skies details the actual battle experiences of the men and boys who made up the service squadrons at the front - Raoul Lufbery, Elliot Springs, Fiorello La Guardia, and, of course, Eddie Rickenbacker.

Forensic Story and Reading
Revisado: 09-14-14
What did you like about this audiobook?
It was free.
How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?
no
Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?
To me, it is presented as written. Forensic and boring.
What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?
Sprance did his best to bring this book to life. For me, he could not.
Do you have any additional comments?
This, of course, is my opinion. There were two reviews prior to mine with 5 star writings. I would encourage others to make their own evaluation. I would be interested in hearing Mr. Sprance narrating a different genre.

Emotional Rollercoaster
Revisado: 07-28-14
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this book to friends. Mainly for the way it was read. The way Juliet went from thinking of the red hot sex her and her husband had enjoyed throughout their marriage and the love she felt for Colton, to the instant loathing, nearer to deadly hatred for him when she caught him with another woman.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Crawl?
Alone in the woods as she dealt with her fear, speaking to the other Juliet and Colton.
What about Maria Hunter Welles’s performance did you like?
Ms. Welles is an excellent narrator for this story. While the author gave the characters name, They could not have lived and breathed in this audiobook without the extraordinary talents of Maria Hunter Welles. If I could have rated her performance 10, I would have dobe so.
Any additional comments?
The story was written well, but the end left me with no closure. If that was the author's intention, then Bravo. the goal was achieved.

Fictional Answer to a Historical Question
Revisado: 07-03-14
If you could sum up Roanoke Vanishing in three words, what would they be?
A Review of audiobook Roanoke Vanishing by Auburn Seal Narrated by Caprisha Page Auburn Seal has written a very interesting theory of the fate of the roughly 115 colonists who settled on Roanoke Island in 1587 only to disappear without a trace. Avery Lane, a student trying to write her thesis so that she can graduate, has chosen the story of the settlers as her topic. Unknown to her there were/are? people who did/do? not want the truth to be discovered and broadcast to the world. A group of these people made it nearly impossible and extremely dangerous for Avery to research her topic, endangering her friends in the process.Auburn Seal has written this story in alternating time between 1587 and the present in a chapter in the present and a chapter in history very effectively. You must listen to Caprisha Page's audiobook presentation of Auburn Seal's Roanoke Vanishing. It is an experience you want soon forget. It also, might make you think about so called facts on which our history is based.Who was Virginia Dare? Google it. What happened to Virginia Dare? Listen to Roanoke Vanishing.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes. It kept me wondering what could possibly hinder this girl's research next.
What about Caprisha Page’s performance did you like?
Caprisha, in her own special way of presenting a story, has managed to keep me interested in the story and amazed at her character representations. Caprisha is a unique storyteller. I look forward to hearing more of her narrations. Perhaps in this Vanishing Series of Auburn Seal's.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, if you have nine hours to spare and a nice comfortable chair.
Any additional comments?
This is an audiobook you absolutely must add to your library.

Historia
In the mysterious bayou country of Louisiana, Jennifer Hale, orphaned and destitute in the wake of the Civil War, arrives at Darkwater full of hope, but the cold reception she receives alarms her. So do the screams of Alicia, the dying mistress of the plantation, who appears to be suffering from a psychosomatic illness that causes her to choke uncontrollably. Perhaps even more frightening is Jennifer's dangerous attraction to Walter Dere, her handsome employer. But her fear is forgotten when Alicia's death frees Walter to propose to Jennifer.

Evil Bayou Magic, Sweet Southern Belle
Revisado: 06-20-14
What did you love best about Darkwater: A Gothic Tale of Horror?
Evil mystery narrated in the voice of Southern sweetness.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Darkwater: A Gothic Tale of Horror?
Meetings in the swamp with the old crone, Mrs. Hodges, were meant to end the attacks on Jennifer Dere. Would the unmentioned price of those visits be too costly? Would the first Mrs. Dere be the only one to die or would it mean the end of Darkwater?
Any additional comments?
I had a hard time pushing the pause button for breaks to eat and other necessary chores. This combination of V.J. Banis and Caprisha Page was magic in itself.

Basic introduction and description of characters
Revisado: 06-19-14
What did you love best about The Journey Begins?
Although Will is bent on revenge, he never loses touch with humanity and the needs of others, no matter what it might cost him.
Have you listened to any of J Rodney Turner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is my first experience with Rodney.
Who was the most memorable character of The Journey Begins and why?
The main characters are all memorable and alive.
Any additional comments?
I was hoping for a brief encounter with or sighting of the Blackman Gang or one of its members. Although the goal of the story, to set up a base, was reached, my expectations were left flat. Perhaps future installments will lift them.
