LS is such a good writer. Her wit is LOL funny! I wish she didn’t feel it necessary to have soooo much graphic sex. A little goes a long way. It shouldn’t become half the book for someone so talented. LS can do better than porn.

The writing is good, so are the characters but the book could be cut by a third. The romance is the same as the first book with too much sex as filler. The dialogue between the two lovers is repetitive, same as the first book. I doubt I’ll continue reading this series even though I’d like to know what happens to the members of the family. Just too much unnecessary sex that doesn’t add anything to the story.

Juvenal, eye rolling & the narration was over the top!

Once I start a book I never not finish it. I'm always optimistic that a rabbit will be pulled out of the hat. I was very disappointed in this book, no rabbit! It was eye rolling, over the top, slap stick and predictable. Although I will say there were several instances that were chuckle worthy. I don't know if this author is targeting teens and very young adults. I did like that graphic sex wasn't what held this story together as so many are. Ms Van Dyken shows promise. I believe she has the talent to become a more serious writer. I hope she grows into a more mature story teller. The narrators could have delivered a better performance that would have helped save this book from being so Juvenal, as there delivery was loud and over the top.

It was so repetitive and boring! The authors TOLD you the story instead of letting you experience it through the characters. The dialogue, descriptions and five senses were almost non existent. I couldn't connect or have any vested interest in what happened to the characters. The authors need to take some creative writing classes! The premise of The Mavericks had potential but fell very short...

I wish Audible would put their erotica in the right genre! I'm no prude but when I want to listen to a good romance I don't want just dirty sex talk & f**king with no character development and a weak plot! I want to care about the characters and what happens to them. I do enjoy a few well written romantic sex scenes in a good romance but not with the whole book being just smut for smuts sake! (Pardon the pun) Dirty sex talk and f**king does not make a romance! Audible, please, please stop putting erotica in the romance genera!!!

I almost didn't get thru all the sex & angst in the first third of the audio but am glad I did. This book at least had a story to tell. It really didn't need all the detailed sex scenes to establish the type of relationship the H & h had. I'm glad I stuck it out for the HEA. Though it was well written I don't know if l'll read (hear) another book by this author then again maybe I'll give her another chance.
