Historia
It was supposed to be just another mission. Buried deep in the rugged Alaskan wilderness lies a secret that could alter the future of mankind - a secret that billionaire Elizabeth Grey has invested millions in solving. But when the dig goes silent, an elite team of battle-hardened military contractors is brought in led by former Marine Max Ahlgren. While the mission to make contact and rescue a team of scientists and engineers working on an “archeological” project seems like an easy payday, once on ground, the team discovers the grizzly truth that this is no ordinary rescue.

Bewildered.
Revisado: 10-27-22
This book has an interesting notion of a fairly good sci-fi story. But as usual, there is way too much description as to what is surrounding these characters, the furniture, the age of the furniture, how old it looks, the color on the walls, where the mirrors are positioned.
Just ridiculous! Get on with the story.
My biggest problem being, the endless amount of non-sense befalling these men, fighting these aliens, that more closely resemble the alien from John Carpenter "the Thing", than anything else Hollywood has ever come up with.
The violence is just unrelenting! And the amount of gore, and the gratuitous blood loss.
Is beyond gross!
The ass beating these characters take, at the hands of immoral, greedy morally corrupt institutions, not informing these characters of the incredible amounts of danger, and the horrendous amount of death awaiting them?
Is unrelenting! And just doesn't stop!
Right up until the last 18-mins of the story, is there any sense of peace. That's 8+ hours of unending insanity.
One of the characters commits doctor assisted suicide.
This story is so ridiculous?
I was ready to join him!

Historia
The search for the Builders, the legendary alien race whose unfathomable constructs continue to perplex scholars and explorers alike, has led Builder expert Darya Lang, adventurer Hans Rebka, and treasure hunters Louis Nenda and Atvar H'sial to an unknown Builder artifact far outside the spiral arm. There they find the Zardalu, once the greatest menace ever known to the worlds of the spiral arm, enslaving entire races and exterminating others, guided by the unswerving belief in their own supremacy.

Surprisingly good.

When you buy an audio book, there is never any guarantee that you will find it entertaining.
Like the books by Anne Rice, whose work after "Queen of the Damned", in 'the Witching Hour" as an example just went on and on in endless rambling, that were in themselves several separate books.
This book series began like another century long Anne Rice novel....but suddenly it began to draw me in.
This book "Transcendence" is really good.
As is it's predecessor. I am looking forward to another book in the series, though I understand these book were written in the early 90's.
Anyway. enjoy!
