So Glad to Have Listened to This Book
Revisado: 02-27-20
I never was much of a “dater“ to begin with. But it’s been more than 30 years since I met my ex-husband so it’s been quite some time since I’ve been even remotely involved with the dating world. Three years post divorce I think it’s high time I start again and I have been terrified.
I’ve met a few people online, but none of them have panned out. Reading Greg’s first book, “He’s Just not That into You” was illuminating to say the least!
After this book I feel I’m ready to embrace dating well-equipped and at peace with the process!

Mind Blown! It All Makes so Much Sense!
Revisado: 02-13-20
Wow, what a wake-up call! After more than 30 years (the last three are post-divorce) I've just stepped into the stressful world of dating again. I've only met a handful of men that I found online. Half of them I didn't have an interest in seeing again, but the few that I did ended up falling into the categories so perfectly described in this book.
I've lost too much time and emotional energy reaching out - second-guessing how they felt about me - listening to the excuses and promises of getting together and that they really do want to see me again blah blah blah...and yet...it's as plain as the nose on my face - they're just not into me!!!!!! And that's ok!
Now while I could beat myself up over that I need only reflect back on the fact that I haven't been "into" all the men I've met either. It either sparks or it doesn't. That's not a reflection on the other person nor myself. They were all great guys and I'm an amazing gal...I just haven't found the amazing guy I'm meant to be with.
Greg & Liz have saved me SOOOOOOOOOOO much time as I now have a completely different viewpoint on how to move forward with future dating. AND if I'm honest with myself, I've realized that many of the signs of a man just not being into you were evident with my own husband. No wonder why I never felt treasured by him. Duh!
Thank you, Greg & Liz! Now - onward and upward!

I love the way they blend fantasy with reality…they intertwine so well it sometimes makes me question the possibility of this magical life being among us. Ha ha!
I also love the way they support, both in the storyline and through the actual sale of this book, two wonderful charities, Comic Relief and Lumos.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Fantastic Story! Historical Fiction of the French Resistance
Revisado: 03-13-18
I thoroughly enjoyed this book which has really opened my eyes to the struggles of the people in World War II told in a way I had not heard before.
It really gets into the horrifying details of what the French people went through while occupied by the Germans during this time period.
The heroism and strength shown in so many characters is inspiring. To know that so much of this is based on truth makes it that much more powerful.
There is no doubt that the author, Kristin Hannah, put a great deal of research into this novel. She gives great honor to those who gave so much to help others during that war.
I highly recommend listening to and/or reading this book.

Brilliant!
Revisado: 01-28-18
I had no idea what this book was about and can’t even remember when or why I purchased it and kept it in the queue of my library.
I decided to listen to it knowing that there must be a reason why I did and was so pleasantly surprised!
I had no idea they had made a TV show based on this book. I have started to watch that just as I was finishing this book and realized it is very very very different. As often happens...the book is far superior!
I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes brilliant writing! It has been funny, interesting, touching, and I can’t help but see people in my life in these characters including myself.
I will point out that in the very first few minutes I couldn’t stand the voice of the narrator. I thought to myself “Oh my gosh I am going to hate this.” and almost shut it off right then and there, but five minutes into it something changed and I was hooked. I thought it was brilliantly narrated as well!

It's a long one, but oh so worth it.
Ken has taken what could have been a boring subject, learning about what was involved in creating magnificent cathedrals and churches in this time period, and turned it into a fascinating story.
The underlying theme of good versus evil is powerful through this magnificent tale of war, love, revenge, lust, power, violence, faith... all blended to tell this historical tale.

Listening for the Third Time...It's That Good!
Revisado: 05-13-17
Where does Making Your Mind Magnificent: rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is one of the most powerful books I've listened to and worthy of repeating because it's SO easy to fall back into old habits...I need a refresher from time to time!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Making Your Mind Magnificent:?
The constant reminders that my brain believes ANYTHING I tell it whether positive or negative.
What does Steven Campbell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love audiobooks when it's the author narrating it. He's not a professional narrator so I'm not expecting perfection there, but by listening to Steven reading it I get a real sense for his heart and passion and the book seems to come alive.
What did you learn from Making Your Mind Magnificent: that you would use in your daily life?
OMGosh SO many things, but I think what's most amazing is just how powerful our self-talk is. It reminds me to be careful of things I say to myself that are not edifying and to encourage me to tell myself things that truly lift me up.
Any additional comments?
I am a huge fan of Steven's, can you tell? Ha ha! I've read his book once and listened to it twice (via the CDs I have) and am thrilled to have it on Audible.com now so I can listen to it a third time, but from my phone now.
I have also attended his live workshop twice and truly feel it's one of the best personal development workshops I've ever been to!

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Brilliant writing… A novel that really makes you think…
Revisado: 03-13-17
I have never read or listened to a Stephen King novel in the past. Honestly his writings are far too scary for me. I accidentally saw the movie The Pet Cemetery and was scarred me for life. Ha ha.
I saw a brief mention of this book however and realized it was nothing that was going to scare me. I honestly didn't know anything about i, I just knew that it had to do with JFK so I thought I would give it a go.
I was so pleasantly surprised this incredible story that really had me thinking over and over and over again about life and time travel in general.
The depth of the characters was delightful and I really found myself getting sucked into this whole story.
I highly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in history, love, life's challenges and dilemmas, and the interesting thought of time travel in general.

This is not only a fascinating story, but the narrator is terrific with all his different accents and so many of them being so believable.
Considering it's 42+ hours in length, it had better be done well...and it has been.
