Historia
For nearly a century, Victorian London relied on “climbing boys” - orphans owned by chimney sweeps - to clean flues and protect homes from fire. The work was hard, thankless, and brutally dangerous. Eleven-year-old Nan Sparrow is quite possibly the best climber who ever lived - and a girl. But when Nan gets stuck in a deadly chimney fire, she fears her time has come. Instead, she wakes to find herself in an abandoned attic. And she is not alone. Huddled in the corner is a mysterious creature - a golem - made from ash and coal. This is the creature that saved her from the fire.

Speed up the narrator it’s worth it
Revisado: 09-25-24
It took a few chapters to get used to the narrator, and I had to speed her up, but it was well worth it. Great characters and story

Historia
At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first 50 years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was a spinster watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny house over their shop in Haarlem. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed....

What an Inspiration for living life as a Christian
Revisado: 03-20-21
The whole Tinboom family is a loving, Christ centered family led by a father full of kindness, devotion and dedication to life for Jesus and for other people. This book was easy to listen too and understand and I felt like I was right there with the family with the descriptions of the rooms and places, even the clothes. Everyone should read this book and get to know this family.
