Historia
On the edge of the galaxy, a diplomatic mission to an alien planet takes a turn when the Legionnaires, an elite special fighting force, find themselves ambushed and stranded behind enemy lines. They struggle to survive under siege, waiting on a rescue that might never come. In the seedy starport of Ackabar, a young girl searches the crime-ridden gutters to avenge her father's murder; not far away, a double-dealing legionniare-turned-smuggler hunts an epic payday; and somewhere along the outer galaxy, a mysterious bounty hunter lies in wait.

Opposite of what I expected
Revisado: 05-11-22
I thought this would be a fun way to learn the backstory for the Galaxy's Edge hotel adventure. But instead of a heroic fantasy I got a grim war story with a thin coat of Star Wars paint. It also lacks any of the modern Star Wars achievements in inclusivity.
The constant soldier drama barely kept me going through the first half. The abrupt shift to the second half made me put this down.
This was a huge disappointment and a step back.

Amazingly busy Star Trek novel

Everything you could ask for... Except a fistfight on the bridge. But lots of science and professional drama!

Personal stories, grand epics, alien and human perspectives, this delivers on everything. It has just enough hard science too.

Historia
Fell is the Hand of Darkness, a relic of great evil. Seeking to rob the powers of Chaos of this relic and bend fate to the favour of order, Yvraine of the Ynnari and the mysterious yet deadly Visarch lead a host of Aeldari on a quest to steal it. To reach it, however, they must first beseech the aid of the Black Library. Only then will Yvraine and her warriors have even the slightest chance to slip through the Garden of Nurgle and from there to the Plague Planet and the Whispering Tower of Mortarion, where the Hand of Darkness surely resides.

But demon seagulls are the most British thing I've heard of! Definitely worth a listen, but don't expect the best slice of lore.

The barren landscape offers no evidence of any life form - until they stumble upon the ruins of a lost civilization. Strange fossils of creatures unknown to man lead the team deeper, where they find carved stones dating back millions of years. A very slow placed book, but rewarding. I have a whole new appreciation for shoggoths.
