the stale potato chip in the series.
Revisado: 03-28-22
narrated impeccably as always, but nothing happens in this book. kept hoping something would but nope. intro was really funny, but after that is was a chore to push through because it had all the weight of wow fetch quest to bring back 5 berries. considering the threat is more than likely our first look at an outsider and a possible world ending threat it should have some weight. though it's just so dragged out lacking the usual energy. I would recommend skipping this book or just jumping to the last 3 chapters once the hit the ghost city if you insist on having all the books. really hope next ones get back the spark this series has had before.

90% really good
Revisado: 12-18-21
overall really good performance, except for the ending. I was listening to the book while relaxing and winding down for the day and thank God I didn't have ear buds in during the final showdown. she makes the rookie mistake of actually yelling when the characters yell. that is a great way to blow out people's ears and yank you right out of the story. I really wish they would remaster the last part because before that I genuinely enjoyed the performance more than the old copy of the book I have.

The war is in full swing. Following the unprecedented outcome of the siege at Fort Yimin, both the Republic and the Empire are forced to drastically reevaluate their plans for the conflict. With matters on the western front more or less settled for the moment, the warring nations turn their attention toward the eastern theatre. Winter looms on the horizon, threatening to deadlock the region and put a temporary halt to hostilities.

great book. if you like the rest you'll love this.
Revisado: 03-05-21
tldr this ain't the first book in the series. if you like the others, then buckle up. this is more of the same chaotic and crazy goodness. this is by far one of my top guilty pleasure series. the NSFW stuff makes it hard to recommend en mass but for those like me it's just the right amount and in the right tone to be a great and amusing side dish to the main course of boxy's chaotic entertainment.

Really enjoyed the book.
Revisado: 07-16-20
It's book 16 so you know the general shape of how things go at this point. If you like the past books you will likely enjoy this one. Harry is starting to show signs of learning from past mistakes and at a few points gets to see how he looked in the past while consumed by his hatred of ghouls. New threats are introduced and we finally meet the king of the fish people and his ace in the hole. There is a cliff hanger ending on this, but I suspect that is the reason for the long delay on this one's release and the follow up book coming out at the end of the year as well. There are a few changes to the voices which if you are fresh off the previous books may be a jarring but I wasn't too bothered by. James does great narration and all the voices fit the characters and seemed close enough. Overall it was a fun listen but not my favorite in the series. Still would recommend to anyone who likes the series though.

an ok but disappointing finish to a series.
Revisado: 04-05-18
in the beginning of the series I really enjoyed each book, but starting with hunted and continuing on the books just weren't as fun or engaging. all the big events felt more like ticking check boxes rather than things that were occurring. I Also had a hard time for most of the book telling if the narrator was doing atticuss's voice or granuale's because they seemed to bleed into each other at times. this is especially weird considering I know he can do really good work with a wide range of voices.
all in all though the story wrapped up as you would expect. good guys win granuale pouts and atticus does something stupid. if you haven't gotten all the extra novellas there will be an army of people who just appear and disappear for the sake of putting in cameo appearances I guess. if you love the series though I guess I would still get this one of only to see how it officially ends, but it does feel hollow when compared to earlier books.

Historia
In a world full of super powers, Felix has a pretty crappy one. He has the ability to modify any item he owns. To upgrade anything. Sounds great on paper. Almost like a video game. Except that the amount of power it takes to actually change, modify, or upgrade anything worthwhile is beyond his abilities. With that in mind, Felix settled into a normal life. A normal job. His entire world changes when the city he lives in is taken over by a super villain. Becoming a country of one city. A city state.

I'm sorry i waited so long to buy.
Revisado: 01-22-18
as a quick preface my tastes in books run towards Dresden files, earlier iron druid and anything written by Brandon Sanderson, but this book is awesome and I can't wait for the next.
I've had this in my wish list for 4 or 5 months before buying it and holy crap was it worth getting. it is a great blend of light comedy, dark humor, heavy themes like the moral ramifications of accidentally coming to own slaves and finding out they make your power much stronger, but also not wanting to be a horrible human being by owning other people so trying to find a balance between giving them their freedom while also benefiting fromtheir service. the character turns a mislabeled delivery gone wrong into a budding empire to be feared full of subjects who love him and respect him. I know it sounds weird, but give it a chance and I promise you won't regret it and you'll be craving pancakes by the end.

Historia
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Love it
Revisado: 10-10-17
I love everything I have listened to by Brandon Sanderson. At first I wasn't a fan of Lift when she was introduced in the main series, but this book won me over. It really fleshed her out as a character and gave some insight to the method behind her seeming madness. this is a must have for fans of the stormlight archive series as it does some world building and character development that presumably will feel very out of the blue if you jump straight from words of radiance to oath bringer.

not terrible
Revisado: 01-04-17
I found the first book as a choose your own adventure style story on my the Google play store and I really enjoyed the story and wanted to see where it went. so when I found out audible had the second book in the series I was excited. until I bought it that is. the narrator is terrible and it really brings the story down and makes me wish I saved my credit and bought the ebook instead.
