Solid Legal Tale
Revisado: 12-08-21
I was given a copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This is a great book, accurate in the legal procedure, and audio was really good too. The only draw back is that it takes the book 98% of the time to build up, then speeds through the end. I would have loved if the end of the book was more drawn out.

Historia
Attorney Garrett Goodlove never thought he'd prosecute a medical malpractice case. Doctors swear an oath to help people, and those cases are usually honest mistakes blown up by ambulance chasers. But when he learns of a woman bodybuilder who went into the ER with a case of heartburn and came out in a wheelchair, he starts paying attention. It appears the doctor who saw her frequently orders open-heart surgery for patients who don't need it, sometimes leading to disability or death.

Historia
Whatever happened to Jane Roe's baby? Norma McCorvey, of Caddo-Comanche heritage, did not terminate the pregnancy that led her to become the anonymous plaintiff of the landmark U.S. supreme court women's rights case Roe v Wade because in 1971, when the motion was first argued, abortion in the U.S. was illegal. The Jane Roe real-life child would now be a woman in her late 40s, the potential of her polarizing celebrity unknown to her. A religious rights splinter group has blackmailed its way into learning the identity of the Roe baby, the product of a closed adoption.

Really interesting take on history
Revisado: 04-09-20
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. Without giving anything away it is a really interesting take on the Roe v Wade baby. The story is great. At first, the tourette syndrome part was a little weird, but it played out. Great job Bauer and Taverna.

Historia
After surviving a traumatic childhood, multiple arrests, six years in high school, and time in drug rehab, Kyle Robinson manages to become a lawyer and business owner. But when he becomes disillusioned with society’s version of success, Kyle throws out the old rule book to happiness and blazes his own path to true fulfillment by doing what any reasonable man in his late 30s would do: He buys a cargo van, builds a bed in the back, and drives west in search of himself, his tribe, and an adventure.

Good, but missing something
Revisado: 01-08-19
I was provided this audio book at no charge by the narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via AudiobookBoom.com.
I have read many books about the lives of ultrarunners and I usually love them. This was was missing something that (even after finishing it) I simply cannot put my finger on it. Also, the jumping back in forth in time like a novel is was necessary.

Early on a May morning in 1988, Laurie Dann, a 30-year-old, profoundly unhappy product of the wealthy North Shore suburb of Chicago, loaded her father's car with a cache of handguns, incendiary chemicals, and arsenic-laced food. Driven by fear and hate, she was going to make something terrible happen. Before the end of the day, Dann had blazed a murderous trail of poison, fire, and bullets through the unsuspecting town of Winnetka, Illinois, and other North Shore suburbs.

Revisado: 09-18-18
"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review." While the author goes into too many details at times into the lives of some of the people in book, the story is as amazing as it is hard to believe. At the end of the book I still don't know if Ms. Dann had evil in her heart or a very sick brain.

Assistant District Attorney Scott Marino has been assigned a tough case: the prosecution of Max Gordon, one of the nation's most prominent and successful defense attorneys, who was accused of paying witnesses to commit perjury in a Savannah criminal trial. Some crimes are just different. Murder is the most serious crime committed on an individual, but perjury is the most dangerous to the criminal justice system.

We have only started on our development of our country - we have not as yet, with all our talk of wonderful progress, done more than scratch the surface. The progress has been wonderful enough, but when we compare what we have done with what there is to do, then our past accomplishments are as nothing.

I received this book for free to review. The narrator does an amazing job! The book itself was incredibly eye opening. Mr. Ford was quite the far right winged libertarian among other things. Let's leave it at that.
