Wonderful first time experience with this author

Intriguing plot and good narration

Cole and Pike are always 2 of my favorite fictional characters. This plot was one of Mr. Crais' best, and all characters were well developed. Also love reading books set in the Los Angeles area.

One of his best!

I waited so long for the release of this Ballard/Bosch novel, ordered it in Audible, as usual, and listened to it within just one day because it was so good. So sad it's over already and can hardly wait for the next one! It was also perfectly narrated, and the Bosch and Maddie parts were acted by the same actors who play them on the television series.

The Audible performance was great

Excellent as always, but not my favorite of Ms. Reich's books. Had so many decades of family history of the various culprits to wade through that it became a bit tedious. There were also not enough actually likable characters. Even some of the good guys were not particularly endearing. Still was a great mystery, though.

This book should be priced much higher!

I live in L.A. and experienced many of the events and seen situations described in this book. This novel is so good that it should sell in the $25 range, and I look forward to the next book in this series with a similar anticipation as I usually feel for the next John Grisham and Michael Connolly novels. The narration was also excellent.
