Historia
Convicted of murder 16 years ago, William Benson is ostracised by the establishment and his family. Supported by a close-knit group including solicitor Tess de Vere, he's defied them all and opened his own Chambers. Now he faces the case of his life - and the terminal illness of Helen Camberley, who helped him leave his prison life behind. Jorge Menderez, a doctor from Spain, has been found dead in a deserted warehouse in East London. A troubled man, he'd turned to counsellor Karen Lynwood seeking help.

Historia
Personal reinvention is a core part of the human condition. Yet in the mid-twentieth century, certain private religious choices became lightning rods for public outrage and debate. Public Confessions reveals the controversial religious conversions that shaped modern America. Rebecca L. Davis explains why the new faiths of notable figures including Clare Boothe Luce, Whittaker Chambers, Sammy Davis Jr., Marilyn Monroe, Muhammad Ali, Chuck Colson, and others riveted the American public.

A rather cynical account
Revisado: 02-08-22
This audiobook was for the most part interesting and well narrated, but the author takes rather a cynical view of religion generally and of the conversion experiences she discusses. I think she gets a lot wrong in her discussion of the interplay between religion and politics. I am particularly troubled by her discussion of Chuck Colson, whose prison ministries have done an incalculable amount of good for prisoners and their families.

Historia
This delightful fairy tale for all ages is filled with fantasy, wit, and wisdom. A classic penned in 1872 by author George MacDonald, it has inspired the work of his friend Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland), and many others, including C.S. Lewis (The Narnia Chronicles), J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings), G.K. Chesterton (The Father Brown Mysteries), and Madeleine L'Engle (A Wrinkle in Time).

Classic story, beautifully read.
Revisado: 07-12-18
The Princess and the Goblin is a classic fairy tale which can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. There are layers of meaning if you choose to see them, but its story line is straightforward. I am in my sixties and loved it, partly because of the old-fashioned but compelling story, and partly because of the talent of the reader. Laura Sauriat is a gifted narrator with a mellifluous voice who.brings each character alive with a range of easy-to-understand but fun and expressive accents. I highly recommend this recording and hope Ms Sauriat considers doing the sequel in due course.
