Historia
When Lady Serena Boyce's husband, the elderly duke of Warrington, could not give her an heir, he begged her to take a lover in order to conceive a child. She never dreamed it would mean falling in love. One look at the handsome stranger who rescued her from a thief and virginal Serena was overcome with desire. Dark and compelling, Lucien Clayborne, marquess of Daneridge, was everything her honor warned her against. Yet before the night was through, she had gifted him with her innocence. Then the duke was murdered, and Lucien discovered that Serena was pregnant.

When the world devolved into chaos and fire, Alpha wolf King kept his territory from collapsing. Now, every day it seems there's a new challenge—rogue witches, treacherous vampires, evil dragons. But his biggest threat is Aurora. Unique, magical, a female who sees him, the male, and not simply the Alpha in charge. But she's thrown up so many walls that he's afraid he'll never be able to break through to the woman behind them.

Good read and I stress read not a good audible
Revisado: 07-03-23
The store was good, would have liked to read a little more about King's background from interaction with his father.
The narrator's voice was too old for the book and you could not tell the difference between one character and the next cause his female voice was non existent. I know the characters are supposed to be hundreds of years old but the narrator made it seem they should be in a nursing home.

Not a bad read / listen but could have been better
Revisado: 06-16-22
This book overall was an easy and inspiring read but I had to comment on one thing that I thought was poorly done. SPOILER ALERT...
The reason that was used for the break up of Nic and Gabe was short sighted and done badly. In that whole book it was never mentioned how Gabe's wife and child died. You just knew that they had passed it was hinted at but never fully explained. He told Nic about his brothers but never how his wife died. The fact that he was reliving their actual death and drawing parallels to what was happening to Nic at the time was not something that should have broken them up. It was already established that he was still having problems and he was told by Nic to talk about them. When he tried the author instead of having him explain what was going on in his head made him give a half ass excuse. This was uncalled for and could have been handled better. While Nic would have still been angry because he left her and she had every reason to be she would have understood where his head was at and the ending would not have seemed so forced.

Historia
Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

Couldn't wait for this book to end
Revisado: 02-18-22
I have read a couple of the reviews for this book and am shocked at the number of reviewers that mentioned the performance-that could be as well as to be expected- when the book sucked to such an extent.
The first half sucked you in with the by play between the hero and heroine. I admit that was a great read. After about halfway the editor should have sat the Author down and told her to rewrite everything. If Kristen talked about her disfunctioning uterus once she mentioned it twelve times too much. I was so tired if it and instead of talking to the love of her life she is constantly jumping to her own conclusions instead of talking and listening to what he has to say.
As for what she did to the secondary characters in the book totally uncalled for.
I HATED THIS BOOK. and I am pretty easy going and accepting of most books but I detested this book. I want back what felt like my whole life as I listen to this drivel.

good but...
Revisado: 03-25-21
This was a good story but the hero's voice did not do justice to the character. He sounded more like a surfer than an educated media mogul.
If you can make it pass that little irratation it is quite a cute story.

Monotone
Revisado: 12-09-19
The narrator is too monotone no distinction between the hero and heroine voice. Also no recognition for punctuation, paragraphs and chapters. Everything ran into each other.
The story is not bad but they keep hinting at something tragic but wouldn't go into details. I guess it's for another book.

Trouble is, this job is not one you can just walk away from. He goes on the run, seeking atonement for his sins by helping the people he meets along the way.

Great narration you felt let you were watching a BBC show.
The ball was dropped at the end of the story. It's like you invested all that time and then you are left hanging. Maybe it's a cliffhanger but I have no desire to continue to find out.... Try your luck.

Historical romance novelist Kate Inskip needs a break. Divorced, overworked, and completely stressed out, her writing buddies decide to surprise her with exactly what she needs - a vacation on a remote island that boasts a rich history and a crumbling castle built by an 18th-century pirate. But things don't go according to plan. A long flight, lost luggage, and a missed connection leave Kate wishing she'd stayed home. And a knife-wielding mugger is the last straw.

If you like spoiled children this is your book
Revisado: 09-01-19
not one of my favorite books by this author. Hero was okay but heroine was annoying and childish. The hero's son was the best thing in this book.
Narrator was soooo monotone especially for the hero that they threw the whole pleasure of listening to a book off. couldn't wait for this book to be over.
Unfortunately the ending which I'm sure was supposed to be cute made the heroine seemed more of a spoiled child.
