Historia
Four hundred years in the future the Earth has turned primitive, following a nuclear fire that laid waste to civilization and nature. Though the radiation fallout has ended, for some unknowable reason every person is born with a twin. Of each pair one is an Alpha - physically perfect in every way - and the other an Omega burdened with deformity, small or large.

Meh.
Revisado: 03-25-15
The book failed to hold my attention and connect me emotionally with the plight of the omegas. The story has redeeming features, but I found the supernatural components of the storey to detract significantly from the potential of it.

Historia
We are accustomed to think of sociopaths as violent criminals, but in The Sociopath Next Door, Harvard psychologist Martha Stout reveals that a shocking 4 percent of ordinary people, one in 25, has an often undetected mental disorder, the chief symptom of which is that that person possesses no conscience. He or she has no ability whatsoever to feel shame, guilt, or remorse. One in 25 everyday Americans, therefore, is secretly a sociopath.

Primarily case studies with many important points!
Revisado: 12-12-13
Would you listen to The Sociopath Next Door again? Why?
Yes, I plan on listening to this again. It was a short listen (took 2-3 days during my commutes and meal-prep time). It also had several important points to remember in dealing with sociopaths.
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
I really enjoyed the case studies; hearing examples of how sociopathy looks in real life made a huge difference for me than dry medical textbooks with symptoms/signs.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
She offered great insight into how we can spot a sociopath. The most common traits were very helpful!
