Where IS the real Stuart Woods please?
Revisado: 10-17-22
I have read or listened to every single one SW’s books and this is - in a word - lost.
First, I’m no prude, and in fact, think Stone Barringtons love life is hysterical. However, not only was i deeply offended by the line that equated ‘priming a pump’ to having as much sex a possible with a woman to information from her, but this didn’t even SEEM like Stone.
Second, spoiler alert - 17 chapters in before anyone thinks to finger print a supposed corpse who was employed by the CIA? This plot point was so duh that my teenager could see it,
Last, my final rant - when did all the characters get so cranky, and stupid? Again, i ask, where is Stuart Woods and who the hell writing for him?
These are fluff books, that i love for distraction, however, they need to stay on the path. The wheels have come off the bus with this one. What a disappointment. I’ll be asking for my credit back.

Loyal & Left Looking....
Revisado: 01-03-22
First, Tony Roberts rocks as usual. That's where it ends for me. I've listened to or read EVERY SINGLE Stone Barrington story. I've weathered some far flung story lines, but I've grown to know all the characters in this series. HOWEVER....I fear mr.woods has forgotten that he knows them at all. Spoiler - there is no possible way Stone would be giving his home security code to a woman he just met.....and the best part of Stone is his charm, and that appears to be no where insight as shallow woman after shallow woman just 'fucks' him like he has no say. Stone loves the dance...and while I like a Stone who takes no guff from these women, it's all very out of character. Dino, stepping up a bit is great. VIV would Never be friends with kittE.....the head of security firm would not be friends with such a vapid shallow woman. In 20 years as an audible subscriber I've returned very few books and written reviews on less.......but it needs saying that this was insulting to a loyal Woods fan.

Historia
The first victim is Dylan Vogler, a charming ex-convict who manages the Bay Beans West coffee shop in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district. When his body is found, inspectors discover that his knapsack is filled with high-grade marijuana. It soon becomes clear that San Francisco's A-list flocked to Bay Beans West not only for their caffeine fix. But how much did Maya Townshend - the beautiful socialite niece of the city's mayor, and the absentee owner of the shop - know about what was going on inside her business?
