Not great not bad

I was a long time Phil fan, but his embrace of the Saudis changed that for me. In a sport self styled as one of honor, principles matter and if money is your only principle, you have failed. But for the background on the Bones breakup didnt really add any new stories perspective and writing style is not terribly engaging with simplistic repeated adjectives and phrases. I listened while walking my dog and it wad an easy listen and time filler.

long but worth it

I saw the Van Gogh immersive experience and wanted to learn more about Vincent. I'm not a bug art fan, don't go to museums, but references in show piqued my curiosity. At over 44 hours I figured I would not make it through but I did and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was he mad was he a genius, a master, that's for others to decide. but his life was hard and seemingly with very little happiness. Jumping from one vocation to another with intense fervor only to quickly sour, just as with his art, he would fully commit to portraits then flowers, black and white, then color. It was really good listen and I would recommend the book.

I enjoyed the story immensely. It was interesting to see how quickly they were able to grow the Silk Road and how equally quickly the money the power and success turn Ross from a idealistic libertarian into a want to be Thug and violent Criminal.

Inside view to Philly Atlantic City Mafia

I enjoyed the book and the inside look into the workings of the Philly Atlantic City Mafia. The book repeats itself a bit to often repeating names, relationships, etc. as if you haven't just completed the prior pages or chapters. Philip likely has some revisionist history regarding his actions, some he says he would have or wish he had taken. Even with those minor distractions. I enjoyed the book and recommend it for others.

Interesting for true crime fans

I was interested in learning more about Bulger and his FBI relationship and this book delivers. The story drops a few important nuggets late in the book/epiloge regarding his FBI handler that could have been better developed. I did not care for 'accents' added to the quotes which leads to low review of the performance.

Tremendous story telling.

The Olympics, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, their leadership, key players, Richard, his mom and many more interesting characters are woven through this retelling of the Olympics Park Bombing. I found it an amazing listen and wanted more!

it's an interesting enough story. Mostly a factual record of what occurred. Would have liked to see a deep examination of the community, church and cops failures what lead to them and how they can be avoided in the future.

I found the examples and advice a bit too obvious and made up. it was okay and as part of the parenting reading or in thus case listening list its okay. Not gonna be my go to reference though.
