Historia
Lily isn’t exactly thrilled with her arrival in the Afterlife, but what awaits her there is more fantastical than she ever could have imagined: Deities wait in line at the coffee shop. Fae flit between realms. Souls find ways to make death a beginning. As she explores the many corners of the Afterlife, Lily finds herself surprisingly drawn to a place most people would avoid at all costs: Hell. Armed with years of customer service experience and pent-up sarcasm, Lily carves a job out for herself amongst Hell’s demons, sending souls to their rightful circles with more than a hint of sass.

I have been following this author for a while and have seen most of these characters grow and develop. I was genuinely pleased meet them on the page. The story is smart and fun.

Oh no. I'm not working with her. She broke my heart, ghosting me after the most incredible summer together. But now, here she is, and we need her to make The Edison successful. The stakes are high, and if this show works out, there's a shot I'll finally get my chance to bring the production I've been writing ever since she left me to the stage. The show must go on. Whatever it takes.

Surprisingly fun and Interesting love story
Revisado: 06-22-22
To be perfectly honest I am NOT the target audience for this Book (or possibly the whole genre)
That said this was a very fun story that bobbed and weaved bringing the main characters apart and together
what really surprised me were the things that I learned as the story unfolded. I have no background in musical theater or ballet but I learned quite a bit as I listened (i.e who knew theaters had dorms?)
The Narrator Torii Alaniz gets better as the book proceeds she is very good
The author Kathryn Biel is very talented and is great with dialog (which is a talent) She writes smart well rounded characters
Maybe I need to reevaluate my tastes audio book genres
All in all a great listen

This is smart and fun SciFi (a combination that is hard to pull off). The author has a great sense for writing characters that find themselves in a new world

Historia
In The End Is Always Near, Dan Carlin looks at questions and historical events that force us to consider what sounds like fantasy; that we might suffer the same fate that all previous eras did. Will our world ever become a ruin for future archaeologists to dig up and explore? The questions themselves are both philosophical and like something out of The Twilight Zone.

History the way it should be taught
Revisado: 10-31-19
Dan Carlin might be the greatest non-Historian Historian in America.
He presents history as it should be convayed : Smart, thought provoking and personal as a punch to the face
This book is a first class review of the edge that humanity walks with its own extinction.
I adore his podcast Hardcore History and fans of it will recognise many of the themes but this book is better because it links so many of the ideas into a brilliant web of Apocalyptic history .

A Solid (if flawed) addition to the MHI universe
Revisado: 12-12-16
If you could sum up Monster Hunter Memoirs: Sinners in three words, what would they be?
Monster Killing Action
What was one of the most memorable moments of Monster Hunter Memoirs: Sinners?
The full moon rising over lake Pontchartrain and the insanity that ensued
What about Oliver Wyman’s performance did you like?
one of the best voices in the buisness
Any additional comments?
Once more into the breach.... this book was better than Ringo's first foray into the Monster Hunter International universe (Monster Hunter Memoirs: Grundge) . The main character is less of a Mary Sue and more of a Hyper Compliant monster killer in this book (although vestiges of Mary Sue-nes remain).

Historia
When marine private Oliver Chadwick Gardenier is killed in the marine barrack bombing in Beirut, somebody who might be Saint Peter gives him a choice: Go to heaven, which, while nice, might be a little boring, or return to earth. The Boss has a mission for him, and he's to look for a sign. He's a marine: He'll choose the mission. Unfortunately, the sign he's to look for is "57". Which, given the food services contract in Bethesda Hospital, creates some difficulty. Eventually it appears that God's will is for Chad to join a group called Monster Hunters International.

Nicely written. Ringo clearly "gets" the Monster Hunters International universe. It is smart and as someone who lived through the 70's and 80's I appreciated the nods to my past.

Historia
My name is Peter Grant, and I am a keeper of the secret flame - whatever that is. Truth be told, there's a lot I still don't know. My superior Nightingale, previously the last of England's wizardly governmental force, is trying to teach me proper schooling for a magician's apprentice. But even he doesn't have all the answers. Mostly I'm just a constable sworn to enforce the Queen’s Peace, with the occasional help from some unusual friends and a well-placed fire blast.

The return of Peter Grant Wizard/Policeman
Revisado: 02-17-14
Where does Broken Homes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This is a great series in the Urban Fantasy genre and this is the best of the (currently) four books in the series.
What other book might you compare Broken Homes to and why?
If you like the Dresden Files books you should do yourself a favor and listen to this book (and the related series). It is the ongoing story of an Apprentice Wizard who is also a Police officer for the London Metropolitan Police force. It is almost (but not quite) a police procedural with magic.
What about Kobna Holdbrook-Smith’s performance did you like?
Kobna Holdbrook-Smith should be reading anything and everything that requires a British accent he is a brilliant vocal talent. He really brings the characters to life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could have listed to this whole book without stopping and found myself extending my walk/drive/other activity so that I could listen to more.
Any additional comments?
I will say (without spoilers) that when you get to the twist in the last quarter of the book that I was stunned speechless and now curse that the book is over and I will have to wait for the next one (whenever that is)
