The characters were lovely and there were so many great cameos from the Lovelight Series. It just felt a little rushed and a bit "insta-lovey" to me. There also seemed to be many more sex scenes than I was expecting, I think too many.

Offensive, misogynistic, maddening

I hate to write a bad review, but this book made me so angry. The opposite of what a romcom is supposed to do. Ugh, I wanted to like this and kept trying to convince myself it was OK, but it was NOT. If you are into "not like other girls" BS, objectification, and drama just for drama's sake, then this is the book for you. SPOILER- If a man ever picked me up and carried me out of a bar after getting in a bar fight, he would NOT be the hero of my story. The two main twists at the end were infuriating on every level, and when the doctor at the end said a baby will be OK despite drinking-- WTF? No doctor would say that! I wish wish wish I DNF'd this book at the beginning when one of the characters said something and I thought to myself, "that's gross."

So boring and obvious, I did not finish.

This is only the second time I DNF an audible in 10+ years. This book was so slow that by the time anything was starting to happen, it was too late. This seemed like an obvious lifetime movie, written by someone in middle school. Save your credit and don't be fooled like I was if it is on sale. The premise seemed promising, so it was disappointing how flat the story was. Seemed like it was written by someone who just read a textbook on codependency and toxic relationships.

The synopsis for this book does not do it justice. This was an unexpectedly sweet story that I immediately listened to again. If you like her other stories, you will not be disappointed.

I wish I read the reviews first! READ this book!

The mouth noises were no joke. For the grandmother's narrator, the mouth noises were almost too much to handle. I tried to return it, but was unable to, so listened to those parts at 2.3x. Not everyone is sensitive to mouth noises, but if you are, I suggest reading this title, because it really is a lovely story with kind and interesting characters.

Sweet, Easy, Summer Read

This story was very sweet and the whole book felt like a daydream, a nice escape. The third act was not especially angsty, which is always a treat. I appreciated the personal post script by the author, on many levels.

Not objective, too biased, wonky tempo

I really wanted to like this, but it was too biased. Listeners beware: this is NOT an objective look at an old case. It was hard to listen to because it was so one-sided. I also found the narration too slow, but was unable to speed it up because then the interview clips were too fast. I'm glad this was free. Don't waste a credit on this one.
