Roger Zelazny's great Amber series work comes alive again through Audio books. I am able to once again enjoy the stories in the audio form. Very well done!

A really fun story told well.

You don't expect this kind of story from a man like David McCallum or at least based on his on-screen persona I didn't. I found this book highly entertaining and because it was read by the author I didn't wonder about the interpretation. I really liked it and hope that he is working on another.

Another good tale by Bruce DeSilva.

This is a fun read and a great performance. DaSilva has a way of telling a story in an earthy, almost gritty way much like talking to friends in the old neighborhood. The reading is as good as the book and complements itto the point of making the listener feel comfortable with the main character as though hearing the story while sitting across from him in your local pub or favorite diner.

I have read many of Jack Higgins's books and enjoyed them all but none as much as The Eagle Has Landed. The characterizations bring each person in the story to life and the pace quickens almost exponentially to a most unexpected denouncement. Liam Devlin, rogue that he is, figures as one of the most likeable of enemies. There are so many really good people caught up in the evils of war interlaced with each other and the fabric of a small, out of the way coastal village that the tale flows so fluidly that before you realize the passage of time you have turned the last page. A rare treat.
