Who on earth chose that narrator???

Not a bad story, tons of research even with some fancy footwork here and then with historical facts. But the narrator is terrible. Just terrible. I-a gotta remember it's-a Italian, no?
Can we even imagine a more general bland American voice? Good grief....and it's a good story.

Horse racing transferred to the speaker's pace

The reader of this particular Francis book seems to have earned a bonus for speed-reading.
If there was anything to savor, we missed it in the narration. Of all the 'sort of about horses' plots, this one has the least connection of all.
