I am a fan of Cher and really enjoyed this audio book. There is so much more to this complicated lady than I ever guessed. If you are a fan, I think you will have a hard time putting it down. I can’t wait to hear Part Two.

Great new series starter

I’m looking forward to the next book. The plot was intriguing, the characters were likable and interesting, Bur, for me, the humor was the best part. I love an author who can make me laugh and smile while telling a story.

Not for me

It started out well and got my attention. The main character was mildly autistic which was interesting and the problem of the characters confinement got my interested me at first, however, The Extinction Trials felt like a young adult novel to me. Some of those novels are quite good, but this one was too simplistic. The characters were cliched and the plot offered few surprises. I couldn’t stay with it. I fast forwarded to the last few chapters to see what point the author was making - “ do unto others”.

Typical Michael Connelly

I like the Lincoln Lawyer series and this entry was a good example of the genre. I was a little disappointed with what Connelly did to the Maggie Mc Pherson character. I thought it was out of character for her, but he’s the author and he made an effort to set things right. So, I guess I’ll forgive him. The narrator is very good.

Hard to finish

For me, the author was a good researcher but had little imagination. I had a hard time staying with it. Personally, I could not recommend it.

I like cozy mysteries, but I could not recommend this one. The narrator is very good. But the plot didn’t really make sense to me.

EXTREME Jane Austen

Julia Seales homage to Austen is a delight and Fiona Hampton does an excellent narration. In this hysterical Austen parody, Seales takes her readers to a small hamlet in Georgian era England and introduces them to the Steele family whose daughters will immediately feel familiar to Austen fans. Although the characters throughout the novel are new, fans will not fail to recognize the similarities they bear to those in Austen's novels. Like Austen, Seales' writing style includes humor, irony, and a critique of the social hierarchy, but it also has a murder. Austen purists may feel that Seales pushes the envelope a little, but I loved it. I enjoy reading both Austin and cozy mysteries, so this was perfect for me. I eagerly await Ms. Seales' next novel.

The story and the characters are too much like “The Thursday Murder Club, but overall a weaker effort. However, if you like Oscan’s series and you want more like it, this novel will be what you are looking for. Personally, I’ll wait for his next novel.

I love this series

All of The Thursday Murder Club stories are good, but for me this one was the best. Probably because I have gotten to know the characters so well and to care about them. I’ll be pre ordering the next novel as soon as I can.
