Historia
Stable, safe, predictable—all words that aptly describe Professor Nadia Day’s life. An existence she’s carefully crafted for herself despite her unconventional upbringing and what, to her, is an unseemly past. The last thing she would ever do is rock the boat when it comes to her life and livelihood. When retired football player and single dad, Nathan Moore, walks into her psychology classroom, all fine and dreadlocked, he does more than rock her boat—he rocks her world and causes her to question her buttoned-up existence.

Thwack...Thwarting...Thwacked!
Revisado: 01-28-20
I am a diehard fan of A.House and her captivating storylines. I love the connection to the McClains. I still dream about those boys. But the women. Why are they so pathetic snd common sense poor. You make them such high achievers but soooo dumb when it comes to safety and simple considerations of others. It never fails how the women are always the victim. Him: Baby I need a bandaid I got a paper cut opening the mail Her: Oh my God it’s all my fault I moved the letter opener and didn’t put it back. Him: Baby did you hear me? Her: I will just leave, not answer the phone or his texts...I am not worthy of this man and need sometime to process my feelings about this. I never read anything about this sort of thing in Grad School I am such an idiot.
Me: Stop the maddening mellow drama...women are smarter and stronger than that. Please tell me I am right...ugh
I highly recommend this book 📖 it was AWESOME 👏

I never turned it off! It was the best written and narrated work. Classic and well directed. The intelligence of the innocent and young was outstanding. I grew up in the inner city, and off the cuff of this era and the survival instincts were real...the loyalty and love were real. I am glad that I reached back for such a good read. Take the time and listen!

Revisado: 06-28-19
First, I could not turn the book off. It was well written and narrated. Except for the male narrator, he would keep the same voice between two separate characters sometimes and it was a little confusing as to who was saying what. But overall a good story. But as a reality check; A 30 year old ‘Old G’ with no game and a virgin...a pathetic mix of the most corniest characters put to paper (audio). The intimate scenes were very elementary, if this were a story set in High School or College, then it would have been right on.

Nicely Written
Revisado: 06-02-19
I like the continuation of stories, but I found this one to be a bit rushed. I didn't feel the connection of the hero and heroin like the others. Almost felt forced and shallow. A few more chapters would not have hurt by adding better context to Bridget’s past sooner in the story. Distinct proposals and weddings would have worked too, perhaps. That was a ripoff in my opinion. Love the uncle though, glad that he got more play in this series. On to the next one.

Historia
NBA player Leland McClain, the baby of the McClain family, is tall, handsome, talented...and spoiled. He's a man who gets what he wants, and what he wants is the lovely Kimberly Hampton. Kim Hampton is the director of a community center, a woman who lives to help others while trying to forget a troubling past. As far as she's concerned, a relationship with any man is a horrible idea. But a relationship with Leland McClain? That's just out of the question. He has to have her. She is undeniably attracted to him. But will she lower her guard and let him hold her?

Can’t Stop The Love!
Revisado: 05-31-19
Beautifully written! Alexandria is a true talent. The performances were bar none and so engrossing. I was transcended at every moment. The characters were so real to me. Kim seemed to have gotten under the skin of many. But without a spoiler alert, she was worth the work of recovery. She made this a real-life fairytale. Many women in toxic relationships (men, friends and family) don’t recognize love at face value....there is that feeling of ’there is always a catch.’ But Ms. House brought the fairytale home with a ’great throw into faith’ for me. I loved each character and their flaws. On to book 3!

Captivated but constantly annoyed
Revisado: 06-07-18
How can a story be so captivating and yet, annoying at the same time? I loved the writing and clever play on words. The author has a unique voice that can give details about something obscure in the middle of something rich and significant without losing you.
I am not a violent person, but I just wanted to choke some of these characters, just until they would just stop talking then I would let them breathe again. I think that this is a book for reading rather than listening. The reader could give life to the characters on their own. The pitchy, whiny interpretation by the narrator got on my last nerves. I get that the story sketched out a few versions of a dissatisfied woman, and some nagging would play, but it was too much, I needed an aspirin after each chapter. Peace!

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name.

Powerful and Riveting A+
Revisado: 03-30-17
I loved the story. The narrator brought the author's vision to life. The family, friends and foes were depicted and real people not the usual over the top glorified subjects. This was not a 'same ol ' story just a new episode. It was about more than a tragedy about a common injustice in our American society; it was about a significant trial about challenging change and winning through a mindset reformation. There was so much more courage in this tale than fear. A lot more intelligent thought about situations rather than irrational reactions. No 'super hero' complexes but lots of heroes. I recommend this book for all. Thank you Angie Thomas!

Historia
Mary B. Addison killed a baby. Allegedly. She didn't say much in that first interview with detectives, and the media filled in the only blanks that mattered: a white baby had died while under the care of a churchgoing black woman and her nine-year-old daughter. The public convicted Mary, and the jury made it official. But did she do it?

Revisado: 02-27-17
I was hooked, lined and sunk. I bought it all. Loved the book as it was well written and the narrator was on point as usual. Bahni is the boss. BUT I did yell at the main character a few times because she second guessed every thought until it was detrimental to her cause. Good read/ listen enjoy!

The EYES have it...BRAVO!
Revisado: 04-15-16
I am completely in Love...with Walter Mosely, Leonid McGill and Mirron Willis. I would like to thank the director and producer for such an excellent execution of work.
The constant mention of Leonid's physical stature and combative abilities, exudes strength and creates this super hero complex. He makes me feel his toughness and invincibility with his awareness of self.
Mosley captures the individuality of his supporting characters through the description of their eyes.
The eyes are the windows to the soul.
“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness.” Matthew 6:22&23
