I really enjoyed this listen. The narrator did a great job! Plenty of subtle enough performance to keep my attention. Help work commutes and dull jobs at home go by. Recommended listen for any LOTR fan.

I did not listen to this book because I had a specific need. As an easy-going laid-back kind of guy, with a strong contemporary woman as a wife I always look at ways to be a better husband. This book supports some of my own thoughts and how contemporary then are often miss directed and unknowing of their roles in a contemporary marriage. The modern wife does not need to be taken care of commonly rescued, or often provided for because she can take care of herself. What this book helped me understand, is the misconception guys golfing total ourselves while we make up our own stories. Y’all can make up stories because we don’t have communication, or are afraid of getting answers that we don’t want to know. So husbands will often write their own stories, coming up with reasons why a wiser acting a certain way without ever having taken the time to simply ask them. This is one of the most damaging things in the passive husband can do, and it will completely employ your marriage if you don’t identify it it corrected it as soon as you can! I strongly recommend this book, not just for husbands out there, but also for wives that may find them selves in similar situation. Communication truly is the key, and if you love your wife, your marriage and your family enough taking the time to talk about things that are in your mind and on your heart is the healthiest close balance things to do. I think the authors for reaffirming something I feel like known for a long time. It’s perfectly fine that she’s strong, and I’m the one who likes to avoid the conflict, but the best thing to do is never stop talking. It’s important to remember everything started with a conversation between the two of you. And that habit should never ever stop!
