Loved this book. I've taken some time to listen, rewind, listen again, absorb and implement. It's really not a diet book and I so appreciate that. The information in this book is practical, realistic and achievable. If we stopped criticizing ourselves long enough, it's actually just plain common sense. As for the narration, self help books can have great content but barely finishable (it's a word now) because it's so difficult to get through it with dry narration. Let's face it, in the audible world the narrator is about as important as the author. Pam Ward did a great job at keeping it going, interesting and engaging. Just an overall great listen.

I’m an audible book junkie, for me the narrator easily makes or breaks an audible and Tegan made this book. She was a great “love to hate her” but she evolved nicely along Dellas journey. I didn’t love the very end of the book (literally the very-think last two paragraphs) either as written or performed but Otherwise thoroughly enjoyed the listen. There were a lot of characters to cover and I was able to keep them separate by voice, not an easy task with so many people. Looking forward to more by both the author and the narrator.

Would you try another book from Brian Godawa and/or Brian Godawa?

no

Any additional comments?

I listened to the first book in this series and really enjoyed it. I don't want to be a prude but this book had potential if it weren't for the (what I can only describe as) soft gay porn segments. I was taken aback by it, and although I think I know what the author was trying to convey, these segments were unnecessary and I believe he could have taken another route to convey the immorality of the Philistines. In three words...TOO MUCH INFORMATION. I didn't finish the book. Brian...Please keep in mind that if you are going to market a book as Christian fiction you may want to make the assumption that your reader base doesn't want strong references to gay sex and child rape.
