This was by far the best of the mistle toe series. Nice set up and story was not mere set up for a sex scene.

I have enjoyed much of Tessa Bailey's work, but this is my favorite. I was very hesitant given the departure from standard contemporary romance and romcom, but it only elevated what makes Bailey stand out in those genres. Love the shameless, full on mutual attraction, balanced out with both levity and lightheartedness.

Unfortunate that Bellefleur seems to be the mainstream WLW author. In the same way 50 Shades is the tragic rep of BDSM lit, readers are missing out on much better works. Yes, the characters in this book communicate, yet misunderstanding and angst abound. The characters are not well developed, and come off as juvenile. Since Bellefleur's first book which was definitely the best of the lot, each release has been worse than the previous one. I did appreciate that the sex scenes were more explicit than in her previous books, but without the character development it is still a miss. Disappointment.

Well written with lovely characters and tremendous chemistry. Narration also great, loved the voices for all the characters. Too often in this genre, it seems only one of the main characters will come across as sexy and the other awkward and frustratingly insecure. Really enjoyed the straight forward approach and comparatively low angst/senseless melodrama of this story. Overall very satisfying!!

Grateful this story avoided the typical melodrama that is so often found in this genre (near lifelong misunderstandings, prolonged denial of feelings, over the top ice queen and other contrived angst). Enjoyed the unfolding of the romantic relationship between the main characters as well as the evolution of the familial characters. There is also very little self-loathing and martyrdom proving it is totally okay to present characters who evolve, accept and embrace good fortune without a knock-down, drag out fight. Narration is also well done.

Wow, this was shockingly bad. Starts out okay, but the further you go, the worse it gets. Poorly manufactured drama that keeps being recycled over and over through the end. The main characters seem to devolve over the course of the book. Regular life struggles are presented as nearly insurmountable obstacles, responses or "coping" are likewise exaggerated to the point of absurdity. Just when I thought the story must be coming to an end I checked the progress and there was 4+ hours remaining! Was the author held hostage with a demand of reaching a specified word count within x amount of time? If you like some of the themes touched on in this book, "Breaking Character" and "Those Who Wait" are wonderful alternatives.
