Historia
TV investigative reporter Topher Davis, the only Black journalist on that beat, has exactly three weeks to do one final story before his position is eliminated due to corporate budget cuts. Enlisting the aid of his sister, SFPD Homicide Detective Lynn Sloan, he decides to investigate what the families of Blacks killed by police—and the families of the cops themselves—go through when tragic events like this occur. Instead, they find themselves involved in an ever-expanding mystery as more officers who’ve committed the same offense turn up dead.

I’ve never been so bored.
Revisado: 09-17-24
This book is so boring. I’m actually ending it with two hours left. I’ve never done that with an audiobook. Really boring story, really bad performance. Make sure to skip on this book.

The story is odd but interesting, different for sure.
Revisado: 09-15-24
The story is a bit odd, very different from anything I expected. But that’s the cool thing about books, good ones are usually unexpected. The authors apology at the end and addressing peoples definition of as sociopath was pretty weird, but I understand your frustration, I would not put that in the audiobook, but teach each their own. The thing that I had an issue with with some of the wording, it honestly seems like a woman wrote this book trying to be what she thinks is a tough guy. But when you call creatures beasties constantly, it takes a lot of the toughness away. When you use words or phrases like bits and bobs, credibility is lost too I think I’ve only heard Grandma say that before, or people straight from england. If you can get past all this, it’s probably worth a listen.

Historia
A night spent sleeping on dirt and leaves is not how Claire Matchett expected to spend her vacation. She thought this would be a break. A week of hiking and hot tubs with two other couple friends. Then Claire’s minivan breaks down on a lonely dirt road. With no cell reception, the group has no choice but to hike the rest of the way to their hotel. But it turns out the woods aren’t as easy to navigate as they thought. Hours later, they are lost. Hopelessly lost. And as they navigate deeper into the woods, the members of their party are struck down mysteriously one by one.

Was this written for teenage girls?
Revisado: 06-17-24
The story was just ok, the real problem is that it seems to have been written for teenage girls. Part of it was the narrator but the writing was very amateur.

OK, story but pretty boring.
Revisado: 03-19-24
This was interesting, but not very good. They should’ve reevaluated some of the voice actors. The “bad guy” with the lateral lisp sounded like a cartoon character and not ominous at all. Story was pretty weak and boring.

In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. Started out dark and then turned weird and not in a good way.
Revisado: 12-27-23
Overall, the book wasn’t bad and the performance is OK. I found the forced liberal narrative very annoying. Kind of ruined it.

Historia
Rise the dark. These were the last words written in Lauren Novak's notebook before she was murdered in a strange Florida village. They've never meant anything to the police or to her husband, investigator Markus Novak. Now the man he believes killed her is out of prison and draws Markus to the place he's avoided for so long: the lonely road where his wife was shot to death beneath the cypress trees and Spanish moss in a town called Cassadaga.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.
