Historia
1828. Robin Swift, orphaned by cholera in Canton, is brought to London by the mysterious Professor Lovell. There, he trains for years in Latin, Ancient Greek, and Chinese, all in preparation for the day he’ll enroll in Oxford University’s prestigious Royal Institute of Translation—also known as Babel. Babel is the world's center for translation and, more importantly, magic. Silver working—the art of manifesting the meaning lost in translation using enchanted silver bars—has made the British unparalleled in power, as its knowledge serves the Empire’s quest for colonization.

Thought-provoking, intelligent and emotional, this is an incredible book I think everyone should read. Plus, the narrator is amazing. I finished Babel three days ago and haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

Romance, with a little fantasy
Revisado: 12-18-20
As an avid reader of fantasy and avoider of romantic fiction, I was a little disappointed when I realized this book is basically a romance novel with the inclusion of “curses” which got it classified as “fantasy.”
300 year old Addie LaRue is immortal, but cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets. So, what else is there for her to do but have endless one night stands until she finally finds a lover who can remember her name the next morning.
If you enjoy both romance and fantasy stories, this is the book for you. The writing is really excellent and captivating, I just became annoyed with how the whole plot is interlaced with so many hook-ups. The narration is bearable but has a rather frantic tone.
Overall I would recommend the book for the great writing. It is not an all-time favorite of mine but worth the read.

INCREDIBLE
Revisado: 06-12-20
I cannot say enough good things about Oathbringer and The Stormlight Archive as a whole, so I will leave it at this: READ THESE BOOKS! I have fallen in love with the characters and the storylines. This book made me cry real tears, laugh, and gave me more insight into the wonderful world Sanderson has created. You won’t regret starting this series!

Boring
Revisado: 02-05-19
It was incredibly boring and hard to follow. No offense but it didn’t hold our attention, at all.
