Historia
How do you explain Liz Phair? Looking at her career, the word fearless seems the right place to start. In Never Said Nothing, the latest in Audible’s Words + Music series, Phair charts her unlikely journey from making her first record - one that’s now ensconced on Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” - to a trial by fire (she’d never set foot on stage before its release), to even more improbably, a second and a third, maybe fourth act, depending on how one counts these things.

Loved hearing her viewpoint
Revisado: 04-27-22
Went to high school with her and have always appreciated her success. Great hearing her story and evolution into adulthood.

So courageous!
Revisado: 10-15-21
Love Leah for her courage in speaking up against Scientology and it’s policies, particularly given their vindictiveness towards people that have left.

Historia
With Normal Gets You Nowhere, Kelly Cutrone invites us to get our freak on. History is full of successful, world-changing people who did not fit in. Think Nelson Mandela, Joan of Arc, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, John Lennon, and Rosa Parks. Instead of changing themselves to accommodate the status quo or what others thought they should be, these people hung a light on their differences - and changed humanity in the process. “I know you don’t feel normal, so why are you trying to act it and prove to everyone you are?” Cutrone says.

I'll take normal over her 'lifestyle'...
Revisado: 12-14-11
Would you try another book from Kelly Cutrone and/or Kelly Cutrone?
Never. This woman seems to hate anything traditional and American. She hates Christmas and Thanksgiving and thinks we should only make up our own personal holidays. Her morals are all about not wearing fur and being sexually free. This book is all activism for the '99%'ers.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Normal Gets You Nowhere?
I wouldn't have published it in the first place.
Any additional comments?
Save your money, this woman has enough.
