Good book. Most characters are "flawed" in some way. Leading to It reading kind like a grungy dark fantasy. Which im here for! Fun book with interesting enough story. I will for sure picking up the next one and seeing where this goes.
The main character is bookish but not a genius or overly adept at anything outside magic. Also Dove is my second favorite side character iv ever experienced. 10/10.
Hope Book 2 gets narrated soon!

I loved this book and cannot wait for the next.
I noticed in a few other reviews people were complaining about Hump being cowardly which seems like a poor observation based on his actions throught the book. 10/10 very brave boy.
The writing does a great job pulling together a well balanced serious and yet almost goofy(?) kinda vibe. At times it kind of strikes me as Terry Pratchet or Yahtze Croshaw of Its own genre. Its fantastic and charming in a way I dont see all that often. Im for sure keeping an eye on this one.

i don't often leave actual reviews but this book and author deserves more attention. I love this series in general. It has been my favorite since I stumbled across book 1. However I think this book in particular has been the one I enjoyed the most. Its like Will took everything I love about the other books and doubled down in the most artful and pleasing way possible. its fantastic and im recommending it to everyone. I can't wait to see what happens next.
