For those who are looking outward and saying WTF and know it’s time to look inward. Saves the best for last chapter.

There is a meditation in Chapter 6 which was extremely freeing for me. I am definitely going to give the book at least another listen - maybe more. After a very long marriage and pending breakup I'm feeling like I can do this and let more love into my life! I wish my Ex the very best that life has to offer. I release her to become the best version of herself!

Onward. Spirits up!

What disappointed you about Clockwork Angels?

The story seemed to be aimed at a younger audience.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator seemed like he was reading to his daughter and not to an adult audience, which is fine. Wish I knew the audience level before reading.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Loved the references to Rush's song titles and lyrics. There were Easter eggs all through the audio book!
Also, if you enjoyed the Clockwork Angels album that Rush released in 2012, this audio book will fill in the story blanks. Not sure if you will enjoy the album any more or less though.

Any additional comments?

I love Neil Peart and Rush, but never connected with the characters in this book or the story. I personally would have been much better off imagining the story in my own mind based on the lyrics and music from the exceptional Clockwork Angels Rush album.

Any additional comments?

I'm on the fourth story and looking forward to an uplifting one. I don't think I'll get it, but I can't help but listen on to characters in the real / surreal life. Well written and well narrated. nuff said!

Was The Pillars of the Earth worth the listening time?

umm. Ok. if you push me then the answer is "no". I can however say, I came, I listened, I reviewed.

Any additional comments?

I am a fan of the Game of Thrones series and most certain that GRRM was inspired by Pillars. This book is ambitious, but failed to engage me with respect to the characters -- through no fault of the excellent narration by John Lee. His characters remained real and true throughout the book.

At a certain point I just didn't care about some of these characters the way I should have -- perhaps with the exception of the main character Prior Philip and the main antagonist William Hamleigh. The other main characters and antagonists were fun at times, but ultimately a bit boring.

Ultimately, I wasn't as compelled to sit in my car and miss a meeting or dinner with my family to listen until the end of chapter like I have been with other audible books. Sometimes I had to push myself to listen to Pillars and not a podcast that I downloaded.

If you could sum up Steve Jobs in three words, what would they be?

Thus far, my favorite book on Audible.

Any additional comments?

I lived through and avidly recall all of Steve Job's major highs and lows, reading about him/Apple/Next rise and fall. Great to understand more of the detail and dirt behind what was going on that the newspapers and mags did not cover. The whole Apple versus IBM versus Microsoft versus itself is very compelling as well as Steve's relationship with Steve Wozniak, his daughter Lisa and others is a study in and of itself in physiology. Crazy, crazy, crazy, but brilliant man.

What I didn't expect is how this book has changed me and others that I have referred. Steve's obsessive and neurotic view for ANY products' fit, form and function had an almost life changing affect on the way I view my company's final product (even though I am in the services business) and the way I shop for products as a consumer.

A must read/listen!!

Interesting, but could have been better. Short.

Best parts are when he talks about his family, but these parts are just a very small part of the book. As a fan some interesting stuff, but could have been better. At times I laughed out loud to hear Steve repeat some of his old stuff, but overall this book is not a comedy book, but a kind of biography. Doesn't go beyond the movie "The Jerk" as far as his career is concerned.
