Narrator need to be replaced

I'm only up to chapter 2. I decided to see if I was being too critical of the narrator, but it turns out I wasn't. He does not do this book any justice. I have plenty of other titles written by Lindsay Buroker and enjoyed them very much. I read a review that the second book is better but I'm not sure since the narrator will be the same. Travis Baldree and Vivienne Leheny are better narrators and there are many others,

Great! But is it a romance novel?

I would love to give this book a 5-stars all-around but there is too much romance when I wanted Fantasy. I still recommend this book as a read/listen. I have a lot of Linsay Buroker's novels and can't wait for the next book in this series or a new series. Thank you Linsay and Vivenne for all the enjoyable hours.

A Bore Feast

I have Battlefield Earth which is about 47 1/2 hours long. Since starting "The Witching Hour", which I still have over 10 hours to go. I could have listened to and or read Battlefield Earth twice over. This is the most boring book I've had to listen to. I purchased this book with my last token and now I have 6 (2 per month). I love listening to Kate Reading. I have a lot of Audible Books narrated by her and thought this would be another great one. Sadly her talent was wasted by reading this. Like some others. Ann Rice provide too much information with little actual interaction of the characters. She goes way beyond too much description. I would like to just delete this book and get another but since I have managed to survive this long I might as well finish it. I'm sure it'll take another month to do this. As for Kate Reading, please go back to Brandon Sanderson, Lindsay Buroker and many others. I love to hear you read and thank you for many hours of pleasurable listening.

Great D&D type story

The prologue was a little confusing but once things got moving I couldn't stop listening. Can't wait until the next book comes out.

One of my top 10 I've listened to.

Loved it! It took me some time to get use to the fast reading of the narrator but the story lived up to the authors previous work. Shame this book was written before the #METOO movement. The only downside was the belittling of the star. Yes, I'm a male!

Love listening to Kate Reading and Lindsay has fantastic writing skills. Now that the series is over I can't decide to buy another book by Lindsay or one narrated by Kate.

An example of a great audiobook creation.

I have read this book 2 or 3 times. Other than I think that this book is great which the movie trashed. I would recommend it to all Science Fiction fans. As an audiobook, by far this is the best I've enjoyed listening to. There is a full cast of real people for the characters in the book. Not just people but sound effects as well. If you're a softy like me you will laugh, cry and hold your breath due to the action. I'm sure there may be other audiobooks out there that are developed the same way and may even be better, however this is my first with more than a single individual reading to you. I highly recommend this book for the Sci-Fi fans out there even if they have already read it, like me. I would like to thank all of the cast members for the many hours of enjoyable listening this book provides.

Abridged versions sucks

I've read most of the Fist series many years ago. The series is great but it would be even better without the butcher knife cutting out parts.
