Historia
They say it’s always beautiful in Bethlam, Nevada. No place you’d rather live. The people are friendly, if a little nosy, and there’s no crime to speak of. Life is pretty perfect. But postal worker Hank Davies has started to suspect something is off in this idyllic little town. And he’s certain of that when he realizes the letters he’s been delivering are just blank pages. Hank isn’t the only one who’s noticed the oddities in Bethlam. One such person knocks on his window in the middle of the night, urging him to investigate his bedroom wall.

i listened to this at 1.7 speed because of the narration but enjoyed the pace of the book from start to finish. I was a bit confused about the ending but in googling realize why.

Wow. Great twists. I guessed a few things but didn’t make the experience less enjoyable. A great listen. I’m not usually a fan of the one narrator but she did a good job. I’d recommend this book.

Historia
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

Meh
Revisado: 03-01-25
Started off great then just didn’t hold my interest. Getting tired of listening to narrators doing male and female voices. I wish there were always at least 2 narrators (male & female). Not all audio books are created equal and sadly this one wasn’t great. I wasn’t going to finish it. This was just okay. Overrated book in my opinion.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Took a while to get into this one & at first was disappointed after thoroughly enjoying her book, “That’s Not My Name”, but once it got going was an enjoyable ride (no pun intended).

Slowwwwww burn book.
Revisado: 12-22-24
This book wasn’t for me. I know many love it. To me it was about 100 chapters too long. Forced myself to keep with it. Probably would make a very good movie though. Many loved this book. I think it was just way too long and not enough excitement to keep me listening for my taste

The first letter arrived the day my husband was buried. It was postmarked from the state penitentiary, and contained a single sentence: I’ll wait forever if I have to. It was signed by Dante, a man I didn’t know. Out of simple curiosity, I wrote back to ask him what exactly he was waiting for. His reply? You.

Great story
Revisado: 10-08-24
I loved how real the author made her characters. Growing up on Long Island, I felt like I was listening to a true story…until I heard the pronunciation of Ronkonkoma and saddened that the narrator couldn’t get the name right. Nonetheless, I recommend this book
