Historia
From the internationally bestselling author of No god but God comes a fascinating, provocative, and meticulously researched biography that challenges long-held assumptions about the man we know as Jesus of Nazareth. Sifting through centuries of mythmaking, Reza Aslan sheds new light on one of history's most influential and enigmatic characters by examining Jesus through the lens of the tumultuous era in which he lived: first-century Palestine, an age awash in apocalyptic fervor.

Bible Scholars Beware
Revisado: 03-04-24
If you want to hold onto the New Testament & the Christianity you may have learned in bible school; don’t read this book.
The author claims this information is a historic account of the times in which Jesus lived & died.
As a Religious Scientist my adult relationship with Bible teachings has changed greatly.
I still hold onto the personal relationship I have with Jesus Christ in my heart.
I believe in love & equality, Divine study is very important to me.
If Paul made up large parts of the New Testament, I believe writers, artists, musicians, teachers & more can be Divinely inspired.

I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

I don’t listen to murder book but I did get into this story. Racial separatism at a peak. Indians were not considered capable humans.
Multi-murders questioned as “cruelty to animals”. FBI, J Edgar Hoover = interesting. Detailed.

Historia
The Poisonwood Bible is a story told by the wife and four daughters of Nathan Price, a fierce, evangelical Baptist who takes his family and mission to the Belgian Congo in 1959. They carry with them everything they believe they will need from home, but soon find that all of it - from garden seeds to Scripture - is calamitously transformed on African soil. What follows is a suspenseful epic of one family’s tragic undoing and remarkable reconstruction over the course of three decades in postcolonial Africa.

Historia
Ninety-one-year-old Gretel Fernsby has lived in the same well-to-do mansion block in London for decades. She lives a quiet, comfortable life, despite her deeply disturbing, dark past. She doesn’t talk about her escape from Nazi Germany at age 12. She doesn’t talk about the grim post-war years in France with her mother. Most of all, she doesn’t talk about her father, who was the commandant of one of the Reich’s most notorious extermination camps. All The Broken Places moves between Gretel’s girlhood in Germany to present-day London as a woman haunted by the past.

Read it all in 3 days. Staying up late and getting up early for more.
Surprised more didn’t come of the conniving heirs, trying to get their forbears properties. Guilt combined with a lack of compassion that masqueraded just below the surface of the surviving people of Nazi Germany.

The Artist's Way is the seminal book on the subject of creativity. An international best seller, millions have found it to be an invaluable guide to living the artist's life. Still as vital today, or perhaps even more so, than it was when it was first published one decade ago, it is a powerfully provocative and inspiring work.

However, Menz's aggressive business tactics and desire to grow his company attracted the ire of a neighboring competitor, Charles "Rocky" Hill. Historia
Shocking and controversial when it was first published in 1939, Steinbeck's Pulitzer prize-winning epic The Grapes of Wrath remains his undisputed masterpiece. Set against the background of Dust Bowl Oklahoma and Californian migrant life, it tells of Tom Joad and his family, who, like thousands of others, are forced to travel west in search of the promised land. Their story is one of false hopes, thwarted desires, and broken dreams, yet out of their suffering Steinbeck created a drama that is intensely human, yet majestic in its scale and moral vision.
