Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

How does John Scalzi do it?!
Revisado: 06-20-18
Not only does Scalzi manage to create fully realized characters in this audio-first novella, he creates a whole world for them to inhabit! Without being drowning you in obvious exposition, he explains the rules of this new world while advancing the plot, developing the characters, AND telling a compelling mystery. This story has everything—frenemies, a missing-persons case, murder, a dash of sci-fi, and the mob—all within a police procedural framework. And Zachary Quinto's narration is inspired! I love Wil Wheaton's readings of all Scalzi's books, but this performance by Quinto is revelatory. It caught me off-guard from the first moments and gripped my imagination until the very end. If you like John Scalzi's blend of sci-fi, action, mystery, and humor — the Dispatcher won't let you down.

The Hitchhiker Trilogy meets the Vicar of Dibley
Revisado: 06-20-18
If you like rollicking, witty comedies, sci-fi, madeup technobabble, and are amused by the quirks of English country-life — this is a radio programme for you. Julian Rhind-Tutt is magnificent as an invading alien hiding in plain sight. You can feel his mischievous, glee when delivering the lines. You might notice that Katrina Lyons sounds different in the first episode, where she's voiced by Katherine Parkinson (of Doc Martin), then in the rest of the series, where she's voiced by Hattie Morahan (of Bletchley Circle) — both are excellent. Peter Davison is another particular favorite as he brings Katrina's father, Richard, to life! A great listen for the whole family — take it on a car trip or recreate the golden age of radio dramas at home.

Great sci-if, comedy romp!
Revisado: 05-01-15
Just as funny as the first series and I hope they make more. Sadly, Charles Edwards voices Field Commander Uljabaan in this series, rather than Julian Rhind-Tutt. Edwards is good, but his inflections lack the gleeful mischief of Rhind-Tutt's delivery. Still the rest of the cast is brilliant and the writing sparkles.

Thrilling conclusion to the best Star Wars trilogy
Revisado: 11-30-11
'Heir to the Empire' (the first book in this trilogy) was the first adult fiction novel I ever read, I was 6 years old. And I was hooked. All three books - 'Heir to the Empire', 'Dark Force Rising' and 'The Last Command' - remain my favorite Star Wars books out of a collection of over 300 Star Wars novels. Zahn's trilogy also spurred the rebirth of the Star Wars franchise, unleashing a tidal wave of tie-in novels and the now extensive 'Expanded Universe'.
The characters are original and dimensional, yet fit with the feel of the original trilogy films. Mara Jade is easily one of my favorite female characters in fiction, and the fact that she holds her own against Zahn's other brilliant creation - the calculating, tactical genius - Grand Admiral Thrawn only adds to this trilogy's appeal. Anthony Daniels' reading, while perhaps a bit dated, holds a special place in my heart as well. I fondly remember listening to this in the car on many summer vacations. Each character is voiced differently and with great feeling. Download 'The Last Command' today and enjoy the thrilling conclusion to - in my opinion - the best Star Wars trilogy in print.
