Historia
The Founding Fathers tried to protect us from the threat they knew, the tyranny that overcame ancient democracy. Today, our political order faces new threats, not unlike the totalitarianism of the twentieth century. We are no wiser than the Europeans who saw democracy yield to fascism, Nazism, or communism. Our one advantage is that we might learn from their experience.

I finished reading the book while I was listening to the audiobook. The narration was matching the written book, with few sentences here and there.
Recommend, especially during the current political atmosphere.
Great book! Great read!

Historia
Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Napoleon Hill digs deep to reveal how fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy prevent us from realizing our personal goals. This long-suppressed parable, once considered too controversial to publish, was written by Hill in 1938 following the publication of his classic bestseller, Think and Grow Rich. Annotated and edited for a contemporary audience by Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Three Feet from Gold coauthor Sharon Lechter, this book is profound, powerful, resonant, and rich with insight.

Worthy of reading!
Revisado: 08-23-21
I like the book! I enjoyed reading it from cover to cover! It contains useful knowledge about self-control, development and success even though personally I don’t look at Napoleon Hill as an idealistic example, he was highly likely otherwise. The content of his book and his other books however are worthy of reading.
One thing I didn’t like much about the book, or rather made me feel bored reaching halfway was the repetitiveness of some points. The good side of it though, it made me memories it.
Recommended from my side!

Sartre's greatest novel and existentialism's key text, now introduced by James Wood, and read by the inimitable Edoardo Ballerini. Nausea is the story of Antoine Roquentin, a French writer who is horrified at his own existence. In impressionistic, diary form, he ruthlessly catalogs his every feeling and sensation.

Glad to have existed to enjoy reading this book!
Revisado: 08-11-21
Read this book for the 2nd time, and I’m grateful to have done so.
Recommended to anyone who wants to enjoy and learn from a thoughtful and deep philosophical work. The book is a bit depressing (not a surprise) but exciting at the same time. A mix of greatness (philosophy, feeling, deep thinking, and an indirect guide on existentialism).
The book (or existentialism in general) was necessary to reduce the bad effects of an inflamed ego, which deeply affected humanity after the industrial advancement back then. We need to have Nausea “reincarnated” to reduce the affects of a more inflamed ego humanity suffers from now after social media (aka antisocial media).
The narrator is great!

The book is deeper than I thought!
Revisado: 07-10-21
Napoleon Hill, the father of self help industry, is controversial. personally, I have my doubts about him and other self help gurus. this book, however, is great! It carries a good amount of “useful and helpful” content, unlike many modern self help books. I enjoyed reading every single sentence (not all of it literally as some aren’t in sync with today’s standards: the book was published in 1937).
I kind of think that the book serves propaganda in favour of a certain economic and political system. The author tried to keep the blame away from the factors that led to the Great Depression, and shifted it instead to the average individual and his own thoughts that led to his choices, and eventually to the circumstances he encountered (like many self help books: it’s not the circumstances that you’re in that caused you failure, it’s YOU! Poor people have brought poverty to themselves. There are no real poor people, they are soon-to-haves! They only need to simply imagine, have faith and a burning desire to have, start working on it after developing a foolproof mastermind plan, build their fortune, and Bam! Become the other Rockefeller in town!)
The principles of success mentioned in the book are indeed necessary to apply, but we also have to put under consideration other factors that are out of our own control. From the book, like other self help books, I’ll take what’s useful, and leave the rest. Overall, great read! Recommended!

Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

When Science becomes Fun.
Revisado: 06-17-21
When Bill Gates said in his review about the book, “You’ll have a hard time putting it down”, he was absolutely right!
The book is coherently written, very informative, and most importantly very easy-to-read. Now, I think I understand the history and life of us humans much better than before (reading the book).
Recommended to anyone who finds history and science hard to digest.

Not a bad read at all!
Revisado: 05-21-21
The book isn’t bad. The narrator is perfect!
I chose to read this book because I am originally a Murakami fan. I read all his famous works, then read this one.
This work of his is a bit different than his famous works. Here, I read some long and boring chapters, especially the first half of it, the second half was more exciting, for me at least.
I recommend it! But don’t expect it to be like Muralami’s other works.

Excellent read if you want more details about living the Now.
Revisado: 04-11-21
Similar to the “Power of Now”, this book gave me a crystal clear explanation (clarification) about how to remain in the present moment, and distinguish yourself (your self) from your mind (the thinker).
I consider this book as a sequel to the Power of Now.
Excellent read if you want to discover your inner self (your self) and enjoy life.

Revisado: 09-30-20
Anyone who wants to understand narcissistic abuse (or wants to know how to handle it) must read this book. It's easy, coherent, and straightforward. Not surprised since it's written by a professional. The need to recognize narcissism (toxic narcissism) in others is important nowadays. This book will help you in your journey, whether a victim, or just a knowledge seeker.

Watch the Thinker! Accept what is.
Revisado: 06-20-20
After you finish reading the book, you'll realize that you might have been controlled by your mind, not the other way around. The book helps you twist it around. Your mind isn't you. The unconscious thinking patterns in your mind, which controls you and your decisions, can be tracked. You can distinguish your self from your thoughts. You can be aware of it when you are conscious. In other words, you will experience this discovery when you are present. Excellent read!!
