Historia
Eleven-year-old Isabella’s parents are divorced, so she has to switch lives every week: One week she’s Isabella with her dad, his girlfriend Anastasia, and her son, Darren, living in a fancy house where they are one of the only black families in the neighborhood. The next week she’s Izzy with her mom and her boyfriend, John-Mark, in a small, not-so-fancy house that she loves. Because of this, Isabella has always felt pulled between two worlds. And now that her parents are divorced, it seems their fights are even worse, and they’re always about her.

AMAZING
Revisado: 03-23-23
I don’t think I’ve ever read a more engaging, twisting book before. I love how it is not just spoken lightly about race, but heavy. This is honestly a amazing book and I recommend to ages 10 to 11+ depending on how much they know about police brutality and such. Would recommend 100%!

Historia
In Tu-Shonda L. Whitaker’s steamiest novel yet, we meet the four deliciously dramatic, designer-clad divas from prime time’s new hit reality show, The Millionaire Wives Club. When these starlets’ private lives run as wild as their emotions, their relationships with one another inevitably turn into high-profile catfights. Through it all, the cameras never stop rolling on TV’s guiltiest pleasure, where power - and diamonds - are always a girl’s best friend.

Hilarious and keeps you on the edge of your seat!
Revisado: 04-29-17
Would you listen to Millionaire Wives Club again? Why?
Yes I would. This book was very funny and I really could not stop laughing on a lot of the parts. I would listen again because the second time around, the listener would have a different experience now that they would know the characters more. It took a minute for me to get all of the characters down, so I had to go back a few times.
What other book might you compare Millionaire Wives Club to and why?
I would put it in the category of urban fiction, but I enjoyed it more than I usually would, because it's not my usual type of books. But this kept my attention!!
What about Bahni Turpin’s performance did you like?
I LOVE Bahni Turpin. Hands down, she is my favorite narrator. I am always in awe and impressed with her narrating skills, and the range of characters and emotions she's able to play. Most of the books I have listened to by her were more serious (Civil War era), so it was sooo funny and different to hear her narrate this story, swear words and all! She really did make the book come alive. She's amazing.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I can't say without giving too much away- but let's just say- there are some plot twists!
Any additional comments?
This book was not what I was expecting. I normally don't read books in this category for fear they'd be overly raunchy for no reason, or poorly written. This book definitely exceeded my expectations. Surprisingly, I was hooked. I was invested in the characters and the plot. There actually was substance an a good story there! Well done, Ms. Whitaker!

Historia
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. The Fault in Our Stars is insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw. It brilliantly explores the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

Beautiful love story!
Revisado: 04-29-17
Would you consider the audio edition of The Fault in Our Stars to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version, however, I absolutely enjoyed listening to this audiobook. I really was sad when it ended. I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and this has been one of my favorites. It was very compelling. I definitely cried on a few portions!
What other book might you compare The Fault in Our Stars to and why?
It's one of a kind!
What does Kate Rudd bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She was a really good narrator! I enjoyed her take on Hazel. I feel like she was the perfect choice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES! I would have if I didn't have 3 little ones and I could just sit and listen all day. I found myself stealing away little moments often as possible so that I could listen to this book.
Any additional comments?
This book has been on my list for quite some time. I am almost 30 years old, but I love YA, and I didn't feel like it was too juvenile for me. I was quite impressed with the characters and I really grew fond of Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace. The way that this book captured death, illness, and love was profound and different from what you may expect. There's no pity party here- these teens show so much maturity and wisdom. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the movie was very accurate! I read the book first because I usually get disappointed by the films, but this book was definitely an exception.

Good & Entertaining Book!
Revisado: 11-21-16
I chose the first book on a whim and decided to read the sequel, because the first book had me hooked!
This book was a nice escape from my usual type of book. I wanted a book that was easygoing, funny and would give me a mental break to relax and just ENJOY. Money Never Sleeps is exactly that.
I was pulled into the story. I was so invested in the characters! I wanted to shake the ladies so hard for some of their choices. I shook my head at many of the antics, and I straight up wanted to KILL Jabril!
If you're looking for a break from life to just escape into a lighthearted and easy to listen t book, this is definitely worth a shot.
As always, Bahni Turpin never disappoints! She's such a great narrator and I literally chose this book mainly because she was the narrator!
