This book offers a quite candid look at the policy of double-speak, the insincerity of this administration and the many sound-bytes that inflamed and called-to-arms a hell-storm that America will be dealing with for years to come. This is a compilation of all the greatest hits of the Bush Admin. talking points and the elaboration of its content from the Admin's highest ranking officials. The summation of this story is great..When some one tells you how hard he/she is working, he/she is probably pulling your leg. If this administration has achieved one thing, it is making sure the public will never trust its gov't again.

I like the attempt at making a collegial discussion over the pre-text of madness and hatred. Conservatism knows no bounds in the dialogue of misguided man-scorned.

I find this book simply fascinating and worth the read, because it is fictitious and can not be seen as anything more than a witty ingestion of systemic trifles. A quick read/listen that will call arms to a battle that doesn't exist...If I may, I would liken this author to a hobo that is trying to jump a moving train, but can never quite make it on to the freight-train called reality.

If we have not yet moved on from this debate and the pure hatred it spews, then I feel sorry for any one that sees this book for anything more than what it really is. He has successfully defined pure white hatred for anything that thinks differently, acts differently or attempts to differentiate fear and compassion for his fellow man and acts upon these things to bring a deeper meaning or relationship from his/her culture to another. This ought not be worthy of bellum gerere, but a defining characteristic of our culture. I believe it was in the Bible that we come to the saying.. Seek and ye shall find Me. I don't see how harboring ill will and putting up walls can allow us to find "His" will?

I find this book to be most helpful in explaining how the hope for America, or the American Dream, and the pugnacious nature of the current political landscape find each other at odds, even at the highest levels.

If we, American society in sum, are to begin to forge ahead in achieving new innovations in technology, communications and culture, then the foundations for such are not yet being built. The collegial discussions of Big Gov't vs. Smaller Gov't are still being thrust into political debate, so says the author, and ought not be the focus of future. Decisions need to be made, now. Decisions like, fostering a domestic entrepreneurial spirit and improving a foreign policy that is wrought with fear and ambiguity. These are things that America will need to strive to achieve in the next elections. In simpler terms, we need to progress or be left behind.

It is not so much to aspire to achieve, as to build the necessary infrasture that achievement becomes possible. The path forged by our ancestors need not be seen as something squandered, rather admired and built upon. Debates and elections must speak to the voice of the people and leaders are there to inspire the next generation of leaders.

Barack Obama mentions his early life to illustrate the point that we either become the fray, or rise above it. As it had been mentioned in previous reviews, his eloquence of thought and speech will captivate any audience. His mastery of saying what needs to be said, while making the reader/listner more intelligent and feel more intellectual are truly his gift. I recommend this book to any one that is looking for a deeper understanding of the dichotomy that exists within business and/or political landscapes and the progress/struggle we all face in making a difference. The struggle needs to be defined to know what we are up against and Barack Obama has certainly defined his.

I would agree that Mark Skousen does an excellent job in explaining the foundations and progressions to Modern Economics, but would add that it reads more like a text book. If you're looking to re-produce this intellectual analysis of the authors cited, then it would be best to purchase the written word.
