Historia
Hellhounds don't have mates. But after a decade of denying his attraction to Brice, Atticus realizes the lion shifter is just that: his fated mate. Atticus was banished from the demon realm well over a century ago when he could no longer do his masters bidding. He had been many places but truly felt at home when he found Honey Creek. His attraction to Brice was unexpected, and when it became too much for him to control his beast, he left, leaving the lion alpha behind.

Excellent Listen
Revisado: 06-11-24
I was lucky enough to win a copy of the audio version of this book, a book I have read many times over. I love this series. Atticus is one of my favorite characters mainly because he is so genuine. My heart hurt for him at times. He didn't know what he was doing when it came to mating but he was not afraid to admit it and ask questions, Once Atticus and Brice mated, and as the two shifters grew more comfortable with each other it made my heart happy to know they would have forever.
Ms. Rylan has become one of my favorite shifter authors and her writing has continued to improve with each book. Her ability to keep the backstory intriguing while introducing each new character is one of the reasons her books will always be on my re-read list.
Every time I listen to a book I have read many times, I have to come to terms with the fact the voices I am now hearing are NOT the voices I heard in my head. This time it was not an issue, Mr. Ferraiuolo was perfect for these two. He was a pleasure to listen to and I will listen to this one again. Not only for the story but for the new voices in my head.

and I don't know why I waited so long. The writing and narration are brilliant. I laughed and cried, sobbing in anticipation of the Atlas V launch. Everyone is telling me I should now watch the movie, but no, it will never be as good as this performance. This book is in my "re-listen many times" list.

Historia
Sam of Wilds faced the Dark wizard Myrin and lived to tell the tale. Granted, the battle left him scarred, but things could be a hell of a lot worse. It’s not until he reunites with Morgan of Shadows and Randall that he realizes just how much worse things could be. Because the scars have meaning and hint at Myrin’s true plans for Sam and the Kingdom of Verania. With time running out, Sam and his band of merry misfits must travel to the snowy mountains in the North and the heart of the Dark Woods to convince the remaining dragons to stand against Myrin.

I never give a 5 star
Revisado: 05-10-22
I usually read a book before I listen to the audio but I needed something to listen to and this series has received glowing recommendations, so I decided to give it a try. A-MAZ-ING. The narrator took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. This wasn't just a story, it was a performance. However, without the authors brilliance in writing the story the narration would not have been as good as it was. This is a series I will turn to in times when I need a good cry, or a belly laugh out loud. I cannot say enough about the collaboration of the author and narrator other than it is one of the best listens in long, long time.

Finished but only because I love the story
Revisado: 12-06-21
I have read this series many times since it was released and wanted to listen to the audio. I am so disappointed and I am kicking myself for not paying attention to the reviews . This was worse than I thought it would be and I don't understand why it hasn't been re-recorded by now. I had a very difficult time finishing the book but because I love the story so much I made it to the end. I am debating whether to return the book or just delete it and let it go. Save yourself time and money and let this one pass you by.

Refreshing
Revisado: 07-29-21
I've had this book for quite a while but because of the hype I was afraid it wouldn't live up to expectations. Both the story and narration exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be listening again.
Reading the reviews, I saw many people were not happy with the narrator, noting he was not realistic with some of his character interpretations.
If you expect reality do not listen to this book. This is fantasy in it's truest form. The narrator brought the every character to life and I could not ask for more from him.
I listened to this book non-stop because I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Both the author and narrator have given us a gift, and I highly recommend it.

Wasn't sure
Revisado: 04-11-21
First of all, this series is in my top three for shifter series. That being said, this book was not one my favorites, until I listened to the audio. When I read the book, Bram was a selfish brat and I didn't like him. But in the audio he became a different person. I was able to see him in a different light and rooted for him as he navigated what could have been a devastating path. Of course, he wouldn't be able to do what he needed to do without Duke, whose love and adoration for Bram, became the hero.

I don't usually listen to books with a cast but this cast was perfect. I very rarely listen to historical fiction, but this book was perfect. I laughed and cried with the characters and was sad when it ended. This is definitely a book I will listen to many times.
