Very engaging, but geographically unsound. . . .

I enjoyed the book and will be continuing the series, BUT whomever decided that they would pass through a road block into Ohio and then onto Illinois, continuing on to Philadelphia before New York City. . . . Hasn’t driven through those states. . . . I seriously paused and wrote my best friend about it. . . . While she claimed that would make her return it, I was engaged in the story. . . . This has now become one of my big pet peeves, second only to describing blood as tasting ‘coppery’, instead of iron or a ‘metallic tang’. . . .

Easy to become attached to the characters

Fred Berman does a great job bringing these characters to life. This is my third time through the series and somehow I forgot to review the first book.
I thoroughly enjoy this author and how she writes a diverse character lineup who the readers can relate to!

I love dystopian literature. Chuck Wendig breathed life into this story, but Dominic Hoffman and Xe Sands (two of my favorite narrators) truly brought it to life!
