Amazing Story

Just wow! Leonard Pitts Jr is a giant in the historical fiction world in my book. This book has excellent pacing and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Within it is all the lessons we hope mankind has learned since WW2. We hope…this was my second reading of this book and it was just as wonderful the second time around.

Good story, Poor performance

I didn’t enjoy the voices in this performance. They were odd and took me out of the story. The story was solid though and I appreciated the character building.

Highly Creative Story

Not for everyone but an enjoyable read. I prefer the book to the movie but both are good. So much mad science! I really enjoyed the political conversations throughout the book.

Fully Fleshed Out Biography

Excellent research done here. This book dispels some myths and teaches you a lot of detail about King’s journey. Really good read.

Absolutely Necessary History

This is a shocking and disgusting story of how greed took the lives of so many Osage people after they obtained oil money. It’s absolutely disgusting to learn about the depths and level of depravity of these white men who murdered so many human being so casually-how many people were involved and how many people allowed this to go on for years. This story desperately needed to be told to honor the pain of the Osage and all that they lost. My only critique is the structure. I was thrilled in the first and third sections. The second section didn’t seem like it fit or that’s should have been a separate book. Other than that, it was an enlightening yet infuriating read. Thankful for this book because there are so many stories in American history still not being told.

There’s so much to love here. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves memoirs, anyone with a creative career and anyone interested in social justice. Aurora has accomplished so much and is quite the inspiration. Can’t wait to see what she does next!

I really enjoyed this. I just received a chronic illness diagnosis last fall and am struggling through the testing and figuring things out. Hearing the experience of others helps so much.

I think the premise is interesting but I didn’t feel any connection to the characters. The narrator was unreliable so still not sure exactly what was happening. The eroticism needed better context to be compelling. Just not for me I guess.
